Echo Collective
Echo Collective are a Brussels-based orchestral ensemble, founded by Neil Leiter and Margaret Hermant, working in the post-classical world. Echo Collective make interpretations of genres as diverse as alt.rock, synth-pop and black metal, and also create their own original music. The ensemble was created when Margaret Hermant and Neil Leiter collaborated with Adam Wiltzie and Dustin O'Halloran's A Winged Victory For The Sullen. The American-born Leiter was introduced to Wiltzie by their mutual friend, the composer and musician Caroline Shaw. ''Echo Collective Plays Amnesiac'' (2018) is a re-working of the Radiohead album ''Amnesiac''. James Kenneth Chapman, known professionally as Maps, is an English record producer, songwriter and remixer. ''Start Something'' In 2006, he recorded his ''Start Something'' EP by himself on his 16-track recorder. He released it on his own record label, Last Space Recordings, and it was met with some critical acclaim. The single "We Can Create, Lost My Soul" polled at number 26 in ''NME'''s Top 50 singles of 2006. Deutsche Grammophon (; DGG) is a German classical music record label that was the precursor of the corporation PolyGram. Headquartered in Berlin Friedrichshain, it is now part of Universal Music Group (UMG) since its merger with the UMG family of labels in 1999. It is the oldest surviving established record company. Thilo Heinzmann
Thilo Heinzmann (born 1969) is a German painter. After a guest professorship of painting at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg in Hamburg, he was appointed professor of painting at Universität der Künste in Berlin. Life From 1992 to 1997, Heinzmann studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, under Thomas Bayrle. Between 1993 and 1995 he was an assistant in Martin Kippenberger's studio in Sankt Georgen im Schwarzwald. Jóhann Jóhannsson
Jóhann Gunnar Jóhannsson (; 19 September 1969 – 9 February 2018) was an Icelandic composer who wrote music for a wide array of media including theatre, dance, television, and film. His work is stylised by its blending of traditional orchestration with contemporary electronic elements. Jóhann released solo albums from 2002 onward. In 2016, he signed with Deutsche Grammophon, through which he released his last solo album, '' Orphée''. Some of his works in film include the original scores for Denis Villeneuve's ''Prisoners'', ''Sicario'', and ''Arrival'', and James Marsh's ''The Theory of Everything''. Glockenspiel
The glockenspiel ( or , : bells and : set) or bells is a percussion instrument consisting of pitched aluminum or steel bars arranged in a keyboard layout. This makes the glockenspiel a type of metallophone, similar to the vibraphone. The glockenspiel is played by striking the bars with mallets, often made of a hard material such as metal or plastic. Vibraphone
The vibraphone is a percussion instrument in the metallophone family. It consists of tuned metal bars and is typically played by using mallets to strike the bars. A person who plays the vibraphone is called a ''vibraphonist,'' ''vibraharpist,'' or ''vibist''. The vibraphone resembles the steel marimba, which it superseded. One of the main differences between the vibraphone and other keyboard percussion instruments is that each bar suspends over a resonator tube containing a flat metal disc. These discs are attached together by a common axle and spin when the motor is turned on. This causes the instrument to produce its namesake tremolo or vibrato effect. The vibraphone also has a sustain pedal similar to a piano. When the pedal is up, the bars produce a muted sound; when the pedal is down, the bars sustain for several seconds or until again muted with the pedal.
