A member of the Social Democratic Party (Romania), Social Democratic Party (PSD), she sat in the Chamber of Deputies (Romania), Romanian Chamber of Deputies from 1996 to 2008, representing Bucharest, and was a Senate of Romania, Senator from 2008 until 2020, for the same city. Ecaterina Nazare (born March 27, 1953) is a Romanian actress. She was the winner of the ACIN Best Actress award for her cinematic performances in 1983 and 1985, and is noted in particular for her portrayal of Maria in the Dan Pița film, ''Pas în doi''. During the 1990s and early 2000s, Ecaterina was employed by the National Theatre in Bucharest. Ecaterina Szabo ( hu, Szabó Katalin, ; born 22 January 1967) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast who won 20 Olympic, world and continental medals. Szabo won gold medals in the 1984 Olympics in three individual events (vault, balance beam (tie), and floor exercise), won the all-around silver medal, and contributed to the team gold. With her four gold medals and a silver medal, Szabo was the most successful athlete at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Afterwards, she led her team to the world title at the 1987 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, defeating the USSR in the team competition for only the second time in the history of the competition. Ecaterina Teodoroiu (; born Cătălina Toderoiu; 15 January 1894 – 3 September 1917) was a Romanian woman who fought on the front and died in World War I, and is regarded as a heroine of Romania. A Romanian Scouts member, she had initially worked as a nurse but she subsequently decided to become a front-line soldier, being deeply impressed by the patriotism of the wounded and the death of her brother Nicolae, a sergeant in the Romanian Army. It was an unusual decision for a woman of that era, so she was sent to the front rather reluctantly. However, with the support of the Romanian royal family, she was able to serve in the military and eventually came to be seen as a symbol. Life Family and early life Varga was born into a family of impoverished nobility on August 22, 1802, in Halmágy, (today Hălmeag, Romania) Transylvania.
