Ebony G. Patterson
Ebony G. Patterson (born 1981, Kingston, Jamaica) is a Jamaican-born visual artist and educator. She is known for her large and colorful tapestries created out of various materials such as, glitter, sequins, fabric, toys, beads, faux flowers, jewelry, and other embellishments. Her "Gangstas for Life series" of dancehall portraits, and her garden-inspired installations. She has taught at the University of Virginia, Edna Manley College School of Visual and Performing Arts, and has been an Associate Professor in Painting and Mixed Media at the University of Kentucky since 2007. Kingston is the capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA), formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center, is an art museum located in MacArthur Park, Little Rock, Arkansas. The museum is undergoing an expansion and renovation. During this time, it is closed to the public. It is scheduled to be complete and ready for the grand opening at MacArthur Park in April 2023. The museum features a permanent collection of art along with occasional special exhibitions. Other parts include a research library and rooms for several art education classes. The Studio Museum in Harlem is an American art museum devoted to the work of artists of African descent. The museum's galleries are currently closed in preparation for a building project that will replace the current building, located at 144 West 125th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Lenox Avenue in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, with a new one on the same site.
