Eben Bartlett
Eben Byron Bartlett Jr. (July 14, 1912 – February 6, 1983) was an American military officer and politician from New Hampshire. Bartlett was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving for four months until his death in office in 1983. Biography Bartlett was born on July 14, 1912, in Goffstown, New Hampshire. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire. Bartlett, a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, fought in the European theatre of World War II. In 1947, Bartlett served as the president of the New Hampshire branch of the Reserve Officers Association. He later fought in the Korean War, serving as a G-2 intelligence officer with the 7th Infantry Division. During his military career, Bartlett was awarded several medals, including the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, and the French Croix de Guerre. Hillsborough County is the most populous county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. As of the 2020 census, the population was 422,937, almost one-third the population of the entire state. Grover C
Grover is a blue Muppet character on the popular PBS/HBO children's television show ''Sesame Street''. Self-described as lovable, cute and furry, he is a blue monster who rarely uses contractions when he speaks or sings. Grover was originally performed by Frank Oz from his earliest appearances. Eric Jacobson has performed the character regularly from the year 2000 onwards. Origins A prototype version of Grover appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' on Christmas Eve in 1967. This puppet had greenish-brown fur and a red nose. He also had a raspier voice – somewhat like Cookie Monster's – and was played a bit more unkempt than Grover would later behave. Betty Hall
Beatrice Perin Barker Hall (March 18, 1921 – April 26, 2018) was an American politician from the state of New Hampshire. Hall served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives for a total of 28 years, serving non-consecutively from 1970 until 2008. Hall grew up in New York City, where she attended Barnard College. In 1948, she and her husband moved to the town of Brookline, New Hampshire, where they started a textile manufacturing firm. Beginning in the 1950s and early 1960s, Hall began participating in local politics, serving on several boards and commissions in Brookline. Hall was elected to the Brookline school board in 1963, and in 1972, she was elected to the town board of selectmen. Brookline, New Hampshire
Brookline is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 5,639 at the 2020 census, up from 4,991 at the 2010 census. Brookline is home to the Talbot-Taylor Wildlife Sanctuary, Potanipo Pond, and the Brookline Covered Bridge. History First a part of Dunstable, Massachusetts, then settled as West Hollis, New Hampshire, the town was granted in 1769 as "Raby". Colonial Governor John Wentworth named it after his cousin, the 4th Earl of Strafford and Baron of Raby Castle. The town was renamed in 1798 at the suggestion of a leading citizen in town originally from Brookline, Massachusetts.
