Eastwood Hanley F.C.
Eastwood Hanley Football Club is a football club based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Trentmill Road. History Original club Situated in the Joiners Square area of the city (south east of the main town Hanley), Eastwood played their home games at the Trentmill Road ground for the majority of their history. The club was established in 1946. In 1987, they joined the Northern Premier League Division One in its first season, and at their height were one of the best non-league teams in North Staffordshire rivalling Leek Town for the top position in the pyramid. Their one major honour came in 1986 when they won the Staffordshire Senior Cup. They were forced out of their Trentmill Road home in the early 1990s due to regular vandalism of the site and although they groundshared with Kidsgrove and Newcastle for a few seasons, interest in the club waned and gates decreased. Hanley is one of the Federation of Stoke-on-Trent, six towns that, along with Burslem, Longton, Staffordshire, Longton, Fenton, Staffordshire, Fenton, Tunstall, Staffordshire, Tunstall and Stoke-upon-Trent, amalgamated to form the City of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. Midland Football League (1994)
The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in the English football league system. History The league was established as the Staffordshire Senior League in 1984, taking its clubs from Staffordshire and the areas immediately adjacent. When the league wanted to raise its profile, and attract clubs from a wider area, the decision was made to rename the league as the "Midland League" with effect from the 1994–95 season. It became a feeder to the North West Counties League. The "new" Midland League consisted of two divisions for the first three seasons, and from 1997 a single grouping. With a merger with the Staffordshire County League in 2005, the new competition became known as the Staffordshire County Senior League, and the Midland League title again fell into disuse.
