Eastside High School (Covington, Georgia)
Eastside High School is a public secondary school in Covington, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Newton County School System. It was opened in 1994 as a transitional school and became an official high school in 1998 when it had its first graduating class. History Eastside Transitional School was built in 1994 to alleviate school overcrowding at Newton High School due to the rapid growth of Newton County in the early 1990s. The school opened that same year to grades 6–9. Each year, the lower grade was dropped and a higher grade was added, until 1997 when the school became a 9–12 high school, Eastside High. The first graduating class graduated in May 1998. In 2002, a new addition was built onto the school to help accommodate more growth. In 2006, the school had an enrollment of 1,441 and a staff of 100 teachers. This number has gone down slightly with the opening of Newton County's third high school, Alcovy High School, in fall 2006. Eastside High School is a public school in east Gainesville, Florida, United States. It was opened in 1970 and is managed by the Alachua County School District. Eastside harbors two magnet programs: the Institute of Culinary Arts and an International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Eastside High School (Lancaster, California)
Eastside High School is located in Lancaster, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. Eastside is the 8th and newest school in the district. The school opened its doors to freshmen in August 2005, with the first class graduating in May 2009. Before May 2009 the school was housed in portables. Classes are now held at the newly constructed site adjacent to the former site. It is a public school that serves 2592 students in grades 9-12. A school's Academic Performance Index (API) is a scale that ranges from 200 to 1000 and is calculated from the school's performance in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) Program. ''Lean on Me'' is a 1989 American biographical drama film written by Michael Schiffer, directed by John G. Avildsen and starring Morgan Freeman. It is based on the story of Joe Louis Clark, a real life inner city high school principal in Paterson, New Jersey, whose school is in danger of being placed into receivership of the New Jersey state government unless students improve their test scores on the New Jersey Minimum Basic Skills Test.
