Eastern Valley Conference
The North Eastern Conference is a high school athletic conference made up of ten teams in northeastern Wisconsin, centering primarily around the Green Bay, Fox Valley and Marinette County areas. Conference schools are members of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. Conference history The North Eastern Conference was founded as the Eastern Valley Conference in 2007 as a merger of four teams from the East Central Conference and six teams from the Valley 8 Conference. 2013 In 2013, the WIAA unveiled plans for a new structure of several area conferences. The plan called for the departure of Berlin, Ripon, and Winneconne of the Eastern Valley to the revived East Central Conference, with Xavier going to the Bay Conference. Denmark, Luxemburg-Casco, Marinette and Oconto Falls would leave the Bay to the North Eastern along with Olympian Conference member Wrightstown. Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) is the regulatory body for all high school sports in Wisconsin. Its history dates to 1895, making it the earliest continually existing high school athletic organization in the country. It also provides the licensing program for more than 10,000 officials in the state, and oversees junior high or middle school athletics in about 100 of the state's nearly 400 school districts. Freedom High School (Wisconsin)
Freedom High School (FHS) is a public high school in Freedom, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Freedom Area School District. History The first public school in Freedom began in 1863 in the home of early settler Nicholas July, and the first high school was built in 1905. That wooden building burned down in 1927 or 1928, and was replaced by a brick building. With funding from the Works Progress Administration, a gymnasium was added in 1938, and other major additions were built in 1956 and 1972. Since 1972, voters have approved referendums to build more classrooms, a library, and a fieldhouse. In November 2017, voters rejected a US$66.7 million school referendum to build a new high school. In January 2019, the school district proposed a reduced referendum for a US$55.7 million project, to be on the ballot on April 2, 2019. Oconto Falls High School
Oconto Falls High School is a public high school located in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, United States. It is the only high school in the Oconto Falls School District, and had an enrollment of 506 for the 2016–2017 school year. History In 1902, members of the Oconto Falls school board borrowed $10,000 from the state of Wisconsin to buy land for and build a high school, which was originally named "Washington". In 1915, a large addition was added on to accommodate the growing number of students. A spring 1957 fire destroyed most of the 1915 addition, but a new 25-classroom replacement was built by the fall. A 2001 fire damaged the roof of the school. Marinette High School is a public high school serving grades 9 through 12 in the city of Marinette, Wisconsin. It is part of the School District of Marinette, and had an estimated enrollment of 623 for the 2014–15 school year. It is the only public high school in Marinette. Luxemburg-Casco High School (known informally as L-C) is a public high school located in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Fox Valley Lutheran High School (FVLHS or FVL) is a private, Lutheran, co-educational high school in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. Seymour, Wisconsin
Seymour is a city in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,451 at the 2010 census. The city is located within the Town of Seymour and the Town of Osborn. History Seymour was founded in 1868 and named after Governor Horatio Seymour of New York. William and John Ausbourne were the first settlers in Seymour. They had traveled from western Outagamie County on the Wolf River during the summer of 1857, making their way to the mouth of the Shioc River and moving to a spot where the Black Creek flows into the Shioc. After finding no more roads to follow, the Ausbournes settled in the present location of Seymour, which was occupied by Native Americans at the time.
