Eastern Shore Delegation
The Eastern Shore Delegation refers to the members of the Maryland House of Delegates who reside in or represent legislative districts that are in or include parts of the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the United States of America. Three delegates are elected from each district, though some districts are divided into sub-districts. The counties that are considered to be a part of the Eastern Shore are Caroline County, Cecil County, Dorchester County, Kent County, Queen Anne's County, Somerset County, Talbot County, Wicomico County, and Worcester County. Maryland House Of Delegates
The Maryland House of Delegates is the lower house of the legislature of the State of Maryland. It consists of 141 delegates elected from 47 districts. The House of Delegates Chamber is in the Maryland State House on State Circle in Annapolis, the state capital. The State House also houses the Maryland State Senate Chamber and the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Maryland. Each delegate has offices in Annapolis, in the nearby Casper R. Taylor Jr. House Office Building. Sheree Sample-Hughes is an American politician who is the Speaker pro tempore of the Maryland House of Delegates and serves as a Delegate to the Maryland General Assembly representing legislative district 37A in Dorchester and Wicomico Counties on Maryland's eastern shore. Personal life Sample-Hughes was born on September 13, 1977 and attended Parkside High School in Salisbury, Maryland. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in public relations from Delaware State University and a master's degree in public administration from Wilmington University. The Maryland Senate is the upper house of the Maryland General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. State of Maryland. One Senator is elected from each of the state's 47 electoral districts. As of January 2023, 34 of those seats are held by Democrats and 13 by Republicans. The leader of the Senate is known as the President, a position currently held by Bill Ferguson, who represents Baltimore. In addition, senators elect a President Pro Tempore, and the respective party caucuses elect a majority and minority leader and a majority and minority whip. Wayne A. Hartman (born December 14, 1967) is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He serves in District 38C, representing Wicomico County and Worcester County including Ocean City, Maryland. He previously served on the Ocean City Council for one four-year term. Worcester County is the easternmost county of the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,460. Its county seat is Snow Hill. It is the only county of Maryland that borders the Atlantic Ocean, and the only county bordering both Delaware and Virginia. Thomas "Tom" S. Hutchinson (born May 25, 1965) is an American politician, business owner, and triathlete. He is currently a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 37B. Background Hutchinson graduated from Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He later received a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University Maryland.
