East Stroudsburg Armory
East Stroudsburg Armory, also known as the Captain George M. Kemp Memorial Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located at East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1928, and is a "T"-plan building consisting of a two-story administration building and attached one-story drill hall executed in the Tudor Revival style. It is constructed of brick and sits on a concrete foundation. It measures approximately 56 feet by 128 feet. Tudor Revival Architecture
Tudor Revival architecture (also known as mock Tudor in the UK) first manifested itself in domestic architecture in the United Kingdom in the latter half of the 19th century. Based on revival of aspects that were perceived as Tudor architecture, in reality it usually took the style of English vernacular architecture of the Middle Ages that had survived into the Tudor period. The style later became an influence elsewhere, especially the British colonies. For example, in New Zealand, the architect Francis Petre adapted the style for the local climate.
