Batesville East Main Historic District
The Batesville East Main Historic District is a residential historic district (United States), historic district in Batesville, Arkansas. When first listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, ti encompassed a four-block stretch of Main Street (between 7th and 11th Streets) that was platted out in 1848, as growth of the city expanded to the northeast from its original nucleus. It was expanded in 1996 to include buildings on College Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, which abut the original district bounds. Four houses survive that predate the American Civil War, although three of these were restyled later in the 19th century. Most of the properties were built before 1910, and are either vernacular or Colonial Revival in style. There are only a small number of Queen Anne, Shingle, and Craftsman style buildings. Two were designed by noted Arkansas architect Charles L. Thompson, and one, the Cook-Morrow House, is separately listed on the National Register. ... East Main Street Historic District (Waltham, Massachusetts)
The East Main Street Historic District is a small residential historic district in Waltham, Massachusetts. It encompasses part of an area that was, before the 1813 construction of the Boston Manufacturing Company further west, developing as a center of the community. Because of the company's economic influence, the center was more fully developed further west, and East Main Street became a fashionable area for upper class housing. The four houses on the south side of East Main Street between Townsend Street and Chamberlain Terrace are a well-preserved remnant of this later period. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The Lyman Reed House, at 436 Main Street, is the oldest of the four houses. Built in 1844, it is one of a few temple-front Greek Revival houses in the city. The Spencer Town Center Historic District encompasses the historic downtown of Spencer, Massachusetts. When first listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, the district covered centered on Main Street between High and North Streets. A major expansion, the East Main Street – Cherry Street Historic District, added of a predominantly residential area east of the center. The district was expanded twice in 2003, adding residential areas along Grove, Prouty, Pleasant, High, and Main Streets, and industrial areas on Cherry, Wall, and Mechanic Streets, as well as Luther Hill Park. The East Main–High Street Historic District is a historic district roughly bounded by Church, High, East Main and Franklin Streets in Greenfield, Massachusetts. It encompasses a predominantly residential area just east of Greenfield's central business district, historically where the town's wealthier residents lived, and features a wide variety of mainly 19th-century residential architecture. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
