East Indonesia Mujahideen
The East Indonesia Mujahideen ( id, Mujahidin Indonesia Timur; Abbreviation, abbreviated MIT) is a terrorist group operating out of Poso, Sulawesi in Indonesia. The group was led by Abu Wardah (also known as Santoso) until he was killed by Indonesian police on 18 July 2016. After the death of Santoso, the group was led by Ali Kalora until he was killed on 18 September 2021. The group has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. MIT was proscribed by the United Nations Security Council under the Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee on 29 September 2015. The US Department of State has designated MIT as a terrorist organisation. MIT has largely carried out its operations within Sulawesi but has threatened to attack targets across Indonesia. Andika Eka Putra
Andika Eka Putra (d. ) was an Indonesian Islamic militant and member of the militant group based in Poso, Mujahidin Indonesia Timur. He was on the most-wanted list (DPO) of the Indonesian Police, along with 44 other terrorists. On September 14, Andika was found dead on the banks of the Puna in Tangkura village, South Poso Pesisir district, Poso regency, Central Sulawesi, at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time. Operation Tinombala
Operation Madago Raya ( id, Operasi Madago Raya), previously known as Operation Tinombala, is a joint police–military operation conducted by the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian Armed Forces to capture and/or eliminate members of Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT), an Indonesian terrorist group which supports ISIL and was commanded by Santoso. In 2016, the Indonesian military and police succeeded in killing Santoso, but the then Chief of the National Police Tito Karnavian continued the operation to ensure the region's safety from the remaining members of the group. Central Sulawesi governor Longki Djanggola praised the operation for its relatively humane methods, since several leaders of the group were successfully captured alive. Adji Pandu Suwotomo
Adji Pandu Suwotomo or Maret Pamungkas (died 19 September 2016), better known as Sobron, was an Indonesian Islamic militant, and also member of the militant group based in Poso, Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT). Sobron is one of those included on the police's most-wanted list (DPO) by the Indonesian Police, along with 44 other terrorists. Sobron was born in Purbalingga. After graduating from elementary school, he continued his education at Purbalingga Junior High School, and Purbalingga Senior High School. However, he resigned when he was attending grade one, and became students at the boarding school. He said goodbye to his family, and said that he would go to Kalimantan. After that, his whereabouts were unknown, until finally he was known to join the terrorist group led by Santoso, Mujahidin Indonesia Timur. Mamasa Regency ( id, Kabupaten Mamasa) is one of the six regencies that make up the West Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, on the island of Sulawesi. It covers a land area of 3,005.88 km2.
