East Hounsfield Christian Church
East Hounsfield Christian Church is a historic church located at Hounsfield in Jefferson County, New York, United States. It was built about 1844 and is a two-story, three bay wide and three bay deep, gable front frame structure with Greek Revival features. A one-story wood frame wing is attached to the rear by a small hyphen. The front features a two-stage wood belfry. The population was 3,466 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is from Ezra Hounsfield, a land agent and land owner. Jefferson County is a county on the northern border of the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 116,721. Its county seat is Watertown. Greek Revival Architecture
The Greek Revival was an architectural movement which began in the middle of the 18th century but which particularly flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, predominantly in northern Europe and the United States and Canada, but also in Greece itself following independence in 1832.
