The East Coast Bays Barracudas is a rugby league club based in Browns Bay, New Zealand. Currently, they compete in the Sharman Cup, the second division in Auckland Rugby League. Coached by Ken McIntosh and managed by Cameron Dick, the "Cudas" are currently based at Freyberg Park. Auckland Rugby League
The Auckland Rugby League (ARL) is the governing body for the sport of rugby league in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It is responsible for rugby league in the region, including both club and school rugby league. It began in 1910 when the first season of club league in Auckland occurred. The first match was a practice game between Newton Rangers and Ponsonby United at Victoria Park which Ponsonby won 17 to 15. The first full club season was in 1910. The Auckland Rugby League was once recognised by England's Northern Rugby Football Union as New Zealand's governing body for the game of rugby league. In 2009, the ARL celebrated its centenary. Browns Bay, New Zealand
Browns Bay is one of the most northernmost suburbs in the contiguous Auckland metropolitan area, located in the North Shore. It is located in the East Coast Bays area, a string of small suburbs that form the northernmost part of the North Shore of Auckland. Browns Bay is under the local governance of the Auckland Council, and is located in the Albany ward, one of thirteen administrative areas in the council. The population was estimated to be as of History Peter Brown, after whom the bay is named, bought of bush and scrub there in 1876. He built his house on what is now the corner of Clyde Road and Anzac Road. This house was destroyed by fire in 1930. Ken McIntosh
Kenneth McIntosh is a New Zealand rugby league coach and former player who currently coaches the East Coast Bays Barracudas. He played professionally with the Penrith Panthers. Playing career McIntosh began his career with the Northcote Tigers in the Auckland Rugby League. He was part of the Tigers team that won the Fox Memorial trophy, something which he rates the highlight of his career. He also represented Auckland and New Zealand Māori while playing for the Tigers, including at the 1992 Pacific Cup. McIntosh then joined the North Harbour Sea Eagles and was part of the team that won the inaugural Lion Red Cup in 1994. After this he was signed by the Penrith Panthers in the Australian Rugby League. However he only played two first grade games in 1995 and was not retained by the club. Louis Anderson
Louis Manu Anderson (born 27 June 1985) is a New Zealand rugby league footballer who plays for Villegailhenc-Aragon XIII in the Elite Two Championship. A New Zealand former international representative forward, he previously played for the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League competition and for the Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves in the Super League. Aaron Aspin Heremaia (born ) is a New Zealand former professional rugby league footballer who last played as a goal-kicking or for the Widnes Vikings in the Super League. Shaun Kenny-Dowall (born 23 January 1988) is a New Zealand international rugby league footballer who plays as a and er for Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. He is the current club captain.
