East Carolina Pirates Football Statistical Leaders
The East Carolina Pirates football statistical leaders are individual statistical leaders of the East Carolina Pirates football program in various categories, including passing, rushing, receiving, total offense, defensive stats, and kicking. Within those areas, the lists identify single-game, single-season, and career leaders. The Pirates represent East Carolina University in the NCAA Division I FBS American Athletic Conference. East Carolina began competing in intercollegiate football in 1932. 2020 NCAA Division I FBS Football Season
The 2020 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the 151st season of college football games in the United States. Organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision it began on September 3, 2020. The season was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States; all of the Power Five conferences initially announced plans to play a fall football season beginning on August 29, but greatly reducing non-conference games to limit the extent of interstate travel. The ACC, Big 12, and SEC, as well as several other Group of Five conferences, began their seasons in September (though with some conferences delaying their start, and all "Week 0" kickoff games were scratched due to the aforementioned restrictions on non-conference play), while independent Notre Dame agreed to play a full conference schedule with the ACC. Marcus Crandell
Marcus Crandell (born June 1, 1974) is a former professional Canadian football quarterback and coach. He was most recently the offensive coordinator of the Saskatchewan Huskies of the University of Saskatchewan. He played 11 seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1997 to 2008 while also spending time in NFL Europe and the XFL. Crandell was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Player after the Stampeders won the 89th Grey Cup in 2001. He also won a Grey Cup championship with the Roughriders in 2007 as the team's backup quarterback. Early life Crandell played high school football at Roanoke High School, located in Robersonville, NC. David Garrard
David Douglas Garrard (born February 14, 1978) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons, primarily with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at East Carolina and was selected by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Garrard became the team's starting quarterback in 2007, leading them to their first playoff win since 1999. A Pro Bowl selection in 2009, he remained the starter until he was released after the 2010 season. Early life Garrard was born in East Orange, New Jersey and grew up in Durham, North Carolina. When he was fourteen his mother died of breast cancer. When he began his professional career he created The David Garrard Foundation to promote breast cancer awareness and research. Shane Carden
Shane Michael Carden (born November 6, 1991) is a former American football quarterback, and current Wood River High School head football coach. He was the MVP of Conference USA as a Junior while playing quarterback for East Carolina in 2013 and the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year during his Senior year in 2014. After his college career at ECU he was signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
