Earth Crisis (album)
''Earth Crisis'' is a roots reggae album released by Steel Pulse in January 1984. It is Steel Pulse's fifth studio album. On the album cover are pictures of American President Ronald Reagan, Soviet leader Yuri Andropov, Pope John Paul II, a Ku Klux Klansman, a Vietnamese refugee, and other historical pictures. ''Earth Crisis'' peaked at #154 on The Billboard 200 chart in 1984. Metalcore band Earth Crisis was called making reference to this album, because its cover portrayed many of the things they "would stand against", such as the starving African children, the two blocs of the Cold War and Klansmen. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Earth Crisis
Earth Crisis is an American hardcore punk band from Syracuse, New York, active from 1989 until 2001, reuniting in 2007. Since 1993 the band's longest serving members are vocalist Karl Buechner, lead guitarist Scott Crouse, bassist Ian Edwards and drummer Dennis Merrick. Their third and current rhythm guitarist Erick Edwards joined the band in 1998. The band has released eight studio albums, three compilations, two live albums and six music videos. Ronald McQueen (also known as "Ponnic McQueen" or "Stepper") is a bass guitarist and one of the original members of the reggae band Steel Pulse. McQueen is usually credited with naming the band "Steel Pulse" after a successful racehorse. Alphonso Martin (born 20 March 1956) is a British musician best known as a percussionist and vocalist for the reggae group Steel Pulse. He joined Steel Pulse in 1976 as a friend of David Hinds. He played percussion and backup vocals for fifteen years, and also contributed lead vocals on the songs "Shining", "Your House", "Reaching Out", "Soul of My Soul", and "Evermore", until leaving the band in 1991 after the release of '' Victims'' to pursue other interests. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process of fertilisation where an egg is combined with sperm in vitro ("in glass"). David Hinds
David Hinds (born 15 June 1956) is a British musician and the founding member, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for the reggae band Steel Pulse. Life and career Hinds was born in Handsworth, West Midlands, Handsworth, Birmingham, England, to parents who migrated to the UK from Jamaica in the mid-1950s, along with many other Jamaicans and other British Caribbean islanders to rebuild post-World War II Britain. At the age of five, he started elementary school and completed all his schooling by 1974. During that period, the music out of Jamaica became a major influence on Hinds' perception on life in years to come.
