Earl D. Desmond
Earl Daniel Desmond (August 26, 1895 – May 26, 1958) was a United States Democratic politician. Desmond was born in Sacramento, California, and during World War I he served in the United States Army. He subsequently became a member of the California legislature for the 19th District and in 1941 was Speaker pro Tem of the California State Assembly. Desmond is chiefly remembered for his efforts in relation to the establishment of California State University, Sacramento, in 1947. California State University, Sacramento (CSUS, Sacramento State, or informally Sac State) is a public university in Sacramento, California. Founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College, it is the eleventh oldest school in the 23-campus California State University system. World War I
World War I (28 July 1914 11 November 1918), often abbreviated as WWI, was one of the deadliest global conflicts in history.
