Earffel Tower
The Earffel Tower is a faux water tower located at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris in Seine-et-Marne. The original version previously existed at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando, Florida, Orlando. Adorned with a set of Mickey Mouse ears, they were inspired by the real water tower located at the Walt Disney Studios (Burbank), Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. A pun on the Eiffel Tower, they are based on water towers commonly found on Hollywood studio backlots of the first half of the 1900s, which were originally a safety measure to douse fires on highly flammable wooden film sets; the Earffel Towers, however, do not contain water. Studio Backlot Tour
The Studio Backlot Tour was an attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It was a combination of a walking and trackless train, tram tour of the backlot area of the park. Originally the park's premier attraction, its final operating day, after years of downscaling, for newer experiences not announced at the time, was on September 27, 2014; the ride then closed September 28. In August 2015, it was announced that the area would be used for Toy Story Land. The entire attraction has now been demolished. A backlot is an area behind or adjoining a movie studio containing permanent exterior buildings for outdoor scenes in filmmaking or television productions, or space for temporary set construction. Uses Some movie studios build a wide variety of sets on the backlot, which can be modified for different purposes as need requires and "dressed" to resemble any time period or look. These sets include everything from mountains, forests, ships, to small-town settings from around the world, as well as streets from the Old West, to whole modern-day city blocks from New York City, Paris, Berlin, and London.
