Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District
The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District is located in the northwest corner of Tarrant County, Texas (United States) and includes of land in Saginaw, Eagle Mountain, Blue Mound and several housing additions in the City of Fort Worth, near Eagle Mountain Lake. Serving more than 18,000 students (a 17% increase over last year), the district consists of 15 elementary schools, six middle schools, three high schools, an alternative discipline center, Hollenstein Career and Technology Center, and the Weldon Hafley Development Center. All campuses in the district are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Texas Education Agency. White Flight
White flight or white exodus is the sudden or gradual large-scale migration of white people from areas becoming more racially or ethnoculturally diverse. Saginaw High School opened in 2005 as the second high school serving the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District (EMS-ISD). It is a 5-A school located in Saginaw, Texas, United States. Eagle Mountain Lake
Eagle Mountain Lake is a reservoir in North Texas, formed by the damming the West Fork of the Trinity River. The reservoir sits below Lake Bridgeport reservoir and above Lake Worth reservoir. History The Texas State Board of Water Engineers granted a permit for constructing the dam that would form Eagle Mountain Lake on May 1, 1928. Construction of the dam that formed the reservoir began on January 23, 1930 and was completed on October 24, 1932. Water impoundment began on February 28, 1934. Blue Mound, Texas
Blue Mound is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,394 as of the 2010 census. History The community's history dates back to the 1920s, when Scottish immigrant John Kennedy established Globe Laboratories, Inc. to produce serum to immunize cattle against blackleg, a disease that affected calves under two years of age. About ten years later, he sold the company to his partner. Kennedy later purchased of land in an area bordered by East McLeroy Boulevard on the north and FM 156 (Blue Mound Road) to the east. His interest in aircraft led him to create the Globe Aircraft Company. As his operation grew, more and more people began to settle near his plant.
