Eagle Island is an island in the locality of Lizard in the Shire of Cook, Queensland, Australia. It is in the Lizard Island National Park, approximately 2,000 km north-west of Brisbane. The island is south-west of Lizard Island situated 270 km north of Cairns, Queensland. Geography It is surrounded by the Eyrie Reef. Coral Sea
The Coral Sea () is a marginal sea of the South Pacific off the northeast coast of Australia, and classified as an interim Australian bioregion. The Coral Sea extends down the Australian northeast coast. Most of it is protected by the French Natural Park of the Coral Sea (french: Parc Naturel de la Mer de Corail) and the Australian Coral Sea Marine Park. The Shire of Cook (The Shire) is a local government area in Far North Queensland, Australia. The Shire covers most of the eastern and central parts of Cape York Peninsula, the most northerly section of the Australian mainland. It covers an area of , and is the largest LGA in the state.
