SC Weiche Flensburg 08 is a Football in Germany, German Association football, association football club from the Weiche suburb of Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein. Apart from football the club also offers other sports like volleyball and table tennis. Before July 2017, the club was known as ''ETSV Weiche''. The club's greatest success has been to earn promotion to the German football league system, tier four Regionalliga Nord in 2012. The club is associated with the German railways, as evident by the term railway sports club in its former prefix ETSV (German: ''Eisenbahner Turn- und Sportverein''). Thomas Seeliger (born 20 September 1966) is a German former Association football, footballer and current manager. He spent four seasons in the Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf, SC Freiburg, and TSV 1860 Munich. The Verbandsliga Schleswig-Holstein-Nord is the seventh tier of the German football league system and the third-highest league in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, together with five other leagues at this level in the state. The Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein, formerly referred to as ''Schleswig-Holstein-Liga'', is the fifth tier of the German football league system and the highest league in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football. Overview 1945–1963 The league was formed in 1947 as Schleswig-Holstein-Liga by thirty clubs in three divisions of ten, in the newly created state of Schleswig-Holstein which was then part of the British occupation zone in Germany. On 30 August 1947, the ''Schleswig-Holstein FA'' (SHFV) was formed. From the start, the league was a feeder league to the Oberliga Nord which its champion had the option of promotion to. Promotion had to be achieved through a play-off with teams from the ''Amateurligen'' of Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg. 2017–18 Regionalliga
The 2017–18 Regionalliga was the tenth season of the Regionalliga, the sixth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Regionalliga Nord 18 teams from the states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein competed in the sixth season of the reformed Regionalliga Nord; 15 teams were retained from last season and 3 were promoted from the Oberliga, namely 2016–17 Niedersachsenliga champions SSV Jeddeloh and promotion round winners Eutin 08, 2016–17 Schleswig-Holstein-Liga champions, and Altona 93, 2016–17 Oberliga Hamburg champions.
