ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime
''ESPN College Football Primetime'' is a live game presentation of Division 1-FBS college football on ESPN or sometimes ESPN2. In the past, the presenting sponsor was Cooper Tires, but since the 2006 season, the current presenting sponsor is Applebee's. The game telecast airs every Thursday night at 7:45pm ET during the college football regular season. The game is preceded by a 30-minute segment with Matt Barrie, Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer, all of whom also appear on the halftime report. This game telecast is also presented in high definition on ESPNHD. It has broadcast games from numerous conferences including the SEC, ACC, Sun Belt and the American. This game is often seen as the ESPN ''Game of the Week'' along with the Saturday night telecast. Matt Barrie (sportscaster)
Matt Barrie is a sportscaster for ESPN's ''SportsCenter''. He joined the show in March 2013. Prior to joining ESPN, Barrie covered high school sports for Dallas/Fort Worth's NBC-owned station KXAS-TV, then CBS affiliate WLTX and sports talk station WCOS (AM), WCOS in Columbia, South Carolina. Earlier in his career, he was a general reporter for NBC affiliate WJFW-TV in Rhinelander, Wisconsin (also serving Wausau, Wisconsin, Wausau), where a 2002 remote interview with then-Governor of Wisconsin Scott McCallum from Madison, Wisconsin, Madison regarding cuts in state shared services in the market's Northern Highland, Northwoods region ended with McCallum agitated about Barrie's questions, and calling him a 'dumb son of a bitch' with his hot mic, microphone still hot and the satellite connection still active, thinking his connection to WJFW and Barrie had already been severed. Kirk Herbstreit
Kirk Edward Herbstreit (; born August 19, 1969) is an American sportscaster and former college football player. He serves as an analyst for ESPN's '' College GameDay'', a television program covering college football, and he also provides color commentary on college football games on ESPN and ABC, and on Thursday Night NFL games on Prime Video. For his TV work, Herbstreit has won five Sports Emmy Awards in various categories. He also appeared annually as a commentator in EA Sports' ''NCAA Football'' until the series was put on hiatus following ''NCAA Football 14''. From 1989 to 1993, Herbstreit was a quarterback for the Ohio State football team. He played in several games his junior season and was the starting quarterback throughout his senior season. Doug Flutie
Douglas Richard Flutie (born October 23, 1962) is an American former football quarterback whose professional career spanned 21 seasons. He played 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), eight seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and one season in the United States Football League (USFL). A high school standout from Natick, Massachusetts, Flutie played college football at Boston College, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1984 amid a season that saw him throw the game-winning touchdown pass in the final seconds against Miami. He chose to begin his professional career with the USFL's New Jersey Generals; as Flutie had already begun playing with the Generals, NFL teams mostly ignored the Heisman winner. Dave Flemming
David Braxton Flemming (born May 31, 1976) is an American sportscaster who has been a play-by-play announcer for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball since 2003. Flemming also calls college football, college basketball, major league baseball, and golf on ESPN. Flemming grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, listening to current Giants partner Jon Miller call Baltimore Orioles games. In 2004, Flemming began his first full year as an announcer for the team, working with Miller, Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow on San Francisco station KNBR and the Giants Radio Network.
