In 2000, ''Time'' said ''Emerge'' was "the nation's best black newsmagazine for the past seven years" the '' St. Louis Post-Dispatch'' described it as "the premier source for intellectual discussion on issues affecting African-Americans", and the ''New York Amsterdam News'' wrote that "it had no rival for cutting edge news for and about the black community". Emerge is a carbonated mixed-fruit flavour energy drink from the United Kingdom which contains taurine and caffeine. It is produced by the Cott Corporation at their packaging facility at Kegworth in Leicestershire. It is sold in Tesco, Asda, Poundland, Home Bargains and other retailers. Its primary difference from competing brand-name energy drinks such as Red Bull and Relentless is the comparatively lower RRP of 59p (250ml can). It can often be found at a lower price than this (for example in pound shops) often undercutting supermarket store brands. Portage is a package management system originally created for and used by Gentoo Linux and also by ChromeOS, Calculate, Sabayon, and Funtoo Linux among others. Portage is based on the concept of ports collections. Gentoo is sometimes referred to as a ''meta-distribution'' due to the extreme flexibility of Portage, which makes it operating-system-independent. The Gentoo/Alt project was concerned with using Portage to manage other operating systems, such as BSDs, macOS and Solaris. The most notable of these implementations is the Gentoo/FreeBSD project. Emacs , originally named EMACS (an acronym for "Editor MACroS"), is a family of text editors that are characterized by their extensibility.
