EEF1G
Elongation factor 1-gamma is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''EEF1G'' gene. Function This gene encodes a subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This subunit contains an N-terminal glutathione transferase domain, which may be involved in regulating the assembly of multisubunit complexes containing this elongation factor and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. Interactions EEF1G has been shown to interact with: * EEF1B2, * EEF1D, * HARS, * LZTS1, * LARS, and * RECQL5 ATP-dependent DNA helicase Q5 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ''RECQL5'' gene. EEF1B2
Elongation factor 1-beta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''EEF1B2'' gene. Function This gene encodes a translation elongation factor. The protein is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor involved in the transfer of aminoacylated tRNAs to the ribosome. Alternative splicing results in three transcript variants which differ only in the 5' UTR. Interactions EEF1B2 has been shown to interact with EEF1G and HARS Histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HARS) also known as histidine-tRNA ligase, is an enzyme which in humans is encoded by the ''HARS'' gene. EEF1D
Elongation factor 1-delta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''EEF1D'' gene. Function This gene encodes a subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex, which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. This subunit functions as guanine nucleotide exchange factor. It is reported that this subunit interacts with HIV-1 Tat, and thus it represses the translation of host-cell, but not HIV-1, mRNAs. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, however, the full length nature of only two variants has been determined. Interactions EEF1D has been shown to interact with Glycyl-tRNA synthetase, EEF1G and KTN1, and is predicted to interact with TMEM63A Transmembrane protein 63A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''TMEM63A'' gene. The mature human protein is approximately 92.1 kilodaltons (kDa), with a relatively high conservation of mass in orthologs. The protein contains eleven tran .... Ref ...

HARS
Histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HARS) also known as histidine-tRNA ligase, is an enzyme which in humans is encoded by the ''HARS'' gene. Function Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are a class of enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic enzyme which belongs to the class II family of aminoacyl tRNA synthetases. The enzyme is responsible for the synthesis of histidyl-transfer RNA, which is essential for the incorporation of histidine into proteins. The gene is located in a head-to-head orientation with HARSL on chromosome five, where the homologous genes share a bidirectional promoter. Clinical significance The gene product is a frequent target of autoantibodies in the human autoimmune disease polymyositis/dermatomyositis. Interactions HARS has been shown to interact with EEF1B2 and EEF1G Elongation factor 1-gamma is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''EEF1G'' gene. Function This gene encodes a subuni ...

Leucine zipper putative tumor suppressor 1 is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the ''LZTS1'' gene. In melanocytic cells LZTS1 gene expression may be regulated by MITF. Interactions LZTS1 has been shown to interact with EEF1G Elongation factor 1-gamma is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''EEF1G'' gene. Leucyl-tRNA Synthetase
Leucyl-tRNA synthetase, cytoplasmic is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ''LARS'' gene. Function This gene encodes a cytosolic leucine-tRNA synthetase, a member of the class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. The encoded enzyme catalyzes the ATP-dependent ligation of L-leucine to tRNA(Leu). It is found in the cytoplasm as part of a multisynthetase complex and interacts with the arginine tRNA synthetase through its C-terminal domain. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been found; however, their full-length nature is not known. Interactions Leucyl-tRNA synthetase has been shown to Protein-protein interaction, interact with EEF1G. Inhibitors * BC-LI-0186 * Tavaborole See also * Leucine-tRNA ligase References Further reading

Protein
Proteins are large biomolecules and macromolecules that comprise one or more long chains of amino acid residues. Proteins perform a vast array of functions within organisms, including catalysing metabolic reactions, DNA replication, responding to stimuli, providing structure to cells and organisms, and transporting molecules from one location to another. Proteins differ from one another primarily in their sequence of amino acids, which is dictated by the nucleotide sequence of their genes, and which usually results in protein folding into a specific 3D structure that determines its activity. A linear chain of amino acid residues is called a polypeptide. A protein contains at least one long polypeptide. Short polypeptides, containing less than 20–30 residues, are rarely considered to be proteins and are commonly called peptides. The individual amino acid residues are bonded together by peptide bonds and adjacent amino acid residues. The sequence of amino acid residue ...

Gene
In biology, the word gene (from , ; "...Wilhelm Johannsen coined the word gene to describe the Mendelian units of heredity..." meaning ''generation'' or ''birth'' or ''gender'') can have several different meanings. The Mendelian gene is a basic unit of heredity and the molecular gene is a sequence of nucleotides in DNA that is transcribed to produce a functional RNA. There are two types of molecular genes: protein-coding genes and noncoding genes. During gene expression, the DNA is first copied into RNA. The RNA can be directly functional or be the intermediate template for a protein that performs a function. The transmission of genes to an organism's offspring is the basis of the inheritance of phenotypic traits. These genes make up different DNA sequences called genotypes. Genotypes along with environmental and developmental factors determine what the phenotypes will be. Most biological traits are under the influence of polygenes (many different genes) as well as gen ...
