Electrodiagnostic Medicine
Electrodiagnosis (EDX) is a method of medical diagnosis that obtains information about diseases by passively recording the electrical activity of body parts (that is, their natural electrophysiology) or by measuring their response to external electrical stimuli (evoked potentials). The most widely used methods of recording spontaneous electrical activity are various forms of electrodiagnostic testing ( electrography) such as electrocardiography (ECG), electroencephalography (EEG), and electromyography (EMG). Electrodiagnostic medicine (also EDX) is a medical subspecialty of neurology, clinical neurophysiology, cardiology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Electrodiagnostic physicians apply electrophysiologic techniques, including needle electromyography and nerve conduction studies to diagnose, evaluate, and treat people with impairments of the neurologic, neuromuscular, and/or muscular systems. The provision of a quality electrodiagnostic medical evaluation requires exten ...

Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy
Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS, EDX, EDXS or XEDS), sometimes called energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA or EDAX) or energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDXMA), is an analytical technique used for the elemental analysis or chemical characterization of a sample. It relies on an interaction of some source of X-ray excitation and a sample. Its characterization capabilities are due in large part to the fundamental principle that each element has a unique atomic structure allowing a unique set of peaks on its electromagnetic emission spectrum (which is the main principle of spectroscopy). The peak positions are predicted by the Moseley's law with accuracy much better than experimental resolution of a typical EDX instrument. To stimulate the emission of characteristic X-rays from a specimen a beam of electrons is focused into the sample being studied. At rest, an atom within the sample contains ground state (or unexcited) electrons in discrete energy levels or electron ...

Event Driven Executive
The Event Driven Executive (EDX) is a computer operating system originally developed by IBM for the control of research laboratory devices and experiments. It included an application programming language known as EDL and HCF, a Host Communication Facility. Background IBM's Research Division opened the San Jose Research Laboratory (SJRL) in 1956, in building 025 on the IBM plant site in San Jose, California. Dr. Henry M. Gladney established the first laboratory automationLaboratory Automation is defined herein as the use of computers to control instrumentation in chemistry and physics laboratories and to record data therefrom. project in 1968, with an IBM 1800 computer. Various instruments in chemistry and physics laboratories throughout the SJRL were linked to the 1800 for control, data acquisition and processing. (Note that this was a long time before instrumentation came with embedded chips and microprocessors and the output from a sophisticated research instrument was likely t ...

EDX (DJ)
Maurizio Colella (born 2 November 1976), better known by his stage name EDX, is a Swiss DJ and Grammy-nominated producer. The #1 Swiss artist on Spotify, he was proclaimed a genius by British electronic dance music magazine ''Mixmag'' for his production and remixing talent. EDX is currently signed to the Spinnin' Deep sublabel of Spinnin' Records, although also releases via his own label Sirup Music. His radio mix show, ''No Xcuses'', debuted in 2011 on Sirius XM and is now broadcast weekly on several stations around the world including iHeartRadio's Evolution, Sri Lanka's Yes 101, Ukraine's Kiss FM, and Hawaii's My 95.9. Biography Ethnically Calabrian and Campanian, EDX was born in Zürich to Italian parents; he credits his Italian heritage for his involvement with music from a young age as well as his summer visits to Italy and experience with the dance music culture there, which influenced his interest in DJing and producing music. EDX's earliest releases were cassette ...
