EBS Symposium
The EBS Symposium is the biggest collegiate economic congress in Europe organized solely by students with over 1000 participants each year. The EBS Symposium takes place annually in September on the campus of the European Business School International University Schloss Reichartshausen, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel. One of the main goals of the EBS Symposium is to generate open conservation to discuss current economic issues between students, young professionals, and well-known representatives from business and politics. At the recruiting fair, various companies have the opportunity to introduce themselves and to pass on information about their company to participants and potential applicants. The topical speeches, panel discussions, and workshops on current economic and socially relevant topics offer space for interaction and communication among the participants and promote the establishment of contacts. EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht (literally "university for business and law"), more commonly referred to as EBS Universität or simply EBS, is a private, state-approved research university for business and law located in Wiesbaden and Oestrich-Winkel, founded in 1971. The university's activities focus on three core areas: undergraduate degree programs, postgraduate degree programs and executive education. The EBS Universität has the right to award doctorates and habilitations and is the oldest private university in Germany. With the foundation of its law faculty in 2010, the former European Business School was awarded university status in 2011, forming the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht. Hans-Paul Bürkner
Hans-Paul Bürkner (born 1952) is a German management consultant serving as a managing director and Senior Partner, as well as Global Chair Emeritus of the Boston Consulting Group. Bürkner served as President & CEO from 2004 to 2012, and was the first European chief executive in the firm's history. Career Bürkner began his career in corporate finance at Commerzbank, and joined BCG in 1981 while it was a predominantly U.S.-focused consulting firm. He was a member of the teams which opened BCG's Düsseldorf and Frankfurt offices, in 1982 and 1991 respectively. Martin Blessing (born July 6, 1963) is a German banker and business person. Education Blessing received his high-school diploma at the Bischof-Neumann-Schule in Königstein im Taunus. After completing a banking apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank, he studied business administration at the University of Frankfurt and the University of St. Gallen (HSG) from 1984 to 1987, where he was also a member of the International Students' Committee. Klaus-Gerhard Maximilian Zumwinkel (, born December 15, 1943) was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of Deutsche Post between 1990 and 2008. Being under suspicion of Tax avoidance and tax evasion, tax fraud, he resigned from office on February 15, 2008.
