Eyre, South Australia
Eyre is a suburb of Adelaide in the City of Playford. It was created on 31 October 2017 by cutting off the northeastern corner of what had been the suburb of Penfield. Its boundaries are Womma, Stebonheath and Petherton Roads on the south, east and north sides. The west follows Andrews Road north from Womma Road, but then extends west to the Northern Expressway. History On 31 October 2017, this section was excised from Penfield and the new suburb of Eyre was created on the north side of Womma Road and western side of Stebonheath Road. The eastern side was dominated by a housing estate which had been marketed as "Eyre at Penfield". The City of Playford is a local government area of South Australia in Adelaide's northern suburbs. It was named in recognition of Sir Thomas Playford, who played a part in the development of the area, and was South Australia's premier from 1938–1965. Elizabeth is an outer northern suburb of the Adelaide metropolitan area, South Australia, 24 km north of the Adelaide city centre. It is located in the City of Playford. Taylor is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. This district is named after Doris Irene Taylor MBE, a leading force in the founding of Meals on Wheels, and Labor activist. Andrews Farm is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Playford. History Andrews Farm was founded in 1991 as a suburb in the then Munno Para Council. Davoren Park is a suburb at the northern extent of the Adelaide metropolitan area, South Australia in the City of Playford. The suburb was formed as part of a merger between Elizabeth Field and the northern part of Elizabeth West on 11 November 1993. Penfield, South Australia
Penfield is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, in the City of Playford. William Penfold, one of the first settlers in the area, subdivided land he had bought in the Hundred of Munno Para in 1856 to create the township of Penfield. The area was commonly known as Peachey Belt or Peachy Belt. The boundaries have changed over the years, the original township being overshadowed by the government acquisition of land immediately south of the early town centre since the 1940s for construction of military facilities such as the Penfield munitions factory. Northern Expressway
Northern Expressway, also known as the Fatchen Northern Expressway, is a 21 kilometre long controlled-access highway in Adelaide, South Australia. Since March 2020, the North–South Motorway continues west of Port Wakefield Highway and intersects the Port River Expressway to reach the harbour at Port Adelaide. These are the northernmost two parts of the North–South Corridor. Cycling is not permitted on the Expressway. The Stuart O'Grady Bikeway is a sealed shared cycling and walking path adjacent to the eastern side of the expressway. The northern end connects to the on-ramp from Two Wells Road to the Gawler Bypass Road, and the southern end is adjacent to Port Wakefield Road at Mill Road.
