Eye Radio
Eye Radio, formerly Sudan Radio Service, is a 24 hours radio station based in Juba, South Sudan. The radio is available online. History The radio station was established as Sudan Radio Service (SRS) on 30 July 2003 in Nairobi as an USAID-funded Education Development Center (EDC) project and aired in shortwave broadcast. Initially, the radio broadcast news summaries and music for one hour and was available in English, Arabic, Dinka, Azande, Shilluk, Nuer, Bari, and Moru. In 2005, the radio aired the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. In June 2010, SRS went on air from its station in Juba. The radio replaced its name from Sudan Radio Service to Eye Radio in August 2012. The South Sudan government suspended Eye Radio on 11 November 2016 after airing Riek Machar voice clip from Al Jazeera TV interview. Juba
Juba () is the capital and largest city of South Sudan. The city is situated on the White Nile and also serves as the capital of the Central Equatoria State. It is the world's newest capital city to be elevated as such, and had a population of 525,953 in 2017. It has an area of , with the metropolitan area covering . Riek Machar
Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon (born 26 November 1952) is a South Sudanese politician who serves as the First Vice President of South Sudan. Political life In February 2020, Machar was re-sworn in as first vice president following a revitalised peace agreement with Salva Kiir, the current President of South Sudan. He is also the head of the rebel faction known as SPLM-IO (Sudan People's Liberation Movement-In Opposition) that was founded in 2014 following the 2013 war outbreak and has been historically in opposition to Kiir. Between April and July 2016 Machar served as the First Vice President of South Sudan. Bor, South Sudan
Bor is a historic city in South Sudan’s central region, being the epicenter of national liberation revolution with multiple landmarks that tells the story. In Malual-Chaat barrack, statues of liberators and destroyed weapons are conserved and exhibited at historical heritage site. It has also served as the headquarters of Jonglei state. Baliet County
Baliet is an administrative county in the Upper Nile State, South Sudan. The County headquarters is the town of Baliet (also referred to as Banglai), located on the north side of the Sobat River 20 km south east of Malakal, the capital city of Upper Nile State. Baliet County, like others in Upper Nile State, was formed in 2006. It was part a previously larger "Sobat County," which also included other simultaneously formed counties of Longechuk, Maban, Malakal, Maiwut, Nasir, and Ulang.
