Extremadura Autonomous Football Team
The Extremadura autonomous football team is the regional football team for Extremadura, Spain. It is not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA, because it is represented internationally by the Spain national football team. It plays only friendly matches. The creation of an Extremadura national team was promoted by César Sánchez (a former Valencia CF and Real Madrid goalkeeper), with the support of the Extremaduran Football Federation. History Although the national team of Extremadura was only officially created in 2007, the presence of an Extremadura national team had already been announced 10 years earlier, on 18 November 1997, in a tribute match to the victims of the 1997 flood in Badajoz, in which a team made up of the best players from Extremadura (CD Badajoz, CF Extremadura and CP Mérida) at that time faced the soon to be Champions league winners Real Madrid at the Viejo Vivero. CP Mérida
Club Polideportivo Mérida was a Spanish football team based in Mérida, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. Having played twice in La Liga ( 1995–96 and 1997–98), the club was dissolved in 2000, due to serious economic debts. Its successor was renamed Mérida UD. History The team founded in 1912 under the name Sportiva Emeritense. It became one of the first teams from Extremadura to play professional football. The club first began playing football in 1943, when it was admitted to Tercera Division. They spent four years there, after which the team was relegated to regional leagues for two years. Merida returned to Tercera division in 1949. Following 12 years in the third tier, Merida was again demoted to the fourth tier in 1961, but only for one year. The Region of Murcia autonomous football team is the regional football team for the Region of Murcia, Spain. They are not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA, because it is represented internationally by the Spain national football team. It only plays friendly matches. History Before the creation of the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia in 1924, the Valencian Football Federation (at the time known as the Levante Football Federation) absorbed the clubs from the provinces of Murcia and Albacete. Thus, the teams from the regions of Valencia and Murcia had the same federation and it was in charge of organizing the Levante Championship and summoning the national team from Levante, which competed twice in the Prince of Asturias Cup, an inter-regional competition organized by the RFEF. The FIFA Men's World Ranking is a ranking system for men's national teams in association football, led by Brazil . The teams of the men's member nations of FIFA, football's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. The rankings were introduced in December 1992, and eight teams (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain) have held the top position, of which Brazil have spent the longest ranked first. The most recent FIFA rankings have been announced, and there have been some significant changes as teams. Ángel Manuel Cuéllar Llanos (born 13 September 1972) is a Spanish former footballer, currently a manager. A left winger or a forward, his main assets were dribbling and scoring ability. David Pirri
David Almazán Abril (born 12 February 1974), known as David Pirri or simply Pirri, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder, and a manager who currently manages Bayamón FC in the Liga Puerto Rico. He amassed Segunda División totals of 202 matches and 11 goals over nine seasons, representing mainly Barcelona B. He added 97 scoreless appearances in La Liga, with Mérida, Numancia and Zaragoza. David Cortés Caballero (born 29 August 1979) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He appeared in 273 La Liga matches in exactly ten seasons, mainly with Mallorca and Getafe (four years apiece). He won one Copa del Rey with the former club.
