Extraño Ser
Extraño is a superhero magician appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Joe Staton, he first appeared in '' Millennium'' #2 (January 1988). Extraño is noted for being the first openly gay superhero in DC Comics. Originally a character affiliated with the Green Lantern mythos, the character in recent stories is instead cast as a sorcerer in the DC Universe, serving as the magical ally of Midnighter and later both leader and founder of leader of Justice League Queer, a loose network for LGBTQ superheroes who can call on each other for superheroic and personal support. Millennium (comics)
"Millennium" was a comic book crossover story line that ran through an eight-issue, self-titled, limited series and various other titles cover dated January and February 1988 by DC Comics. The limited series was published weekly, which was a departure for an American series. It was written by Steve Englehart, and with art by Joe Staton and Ian Gibson. Plot The story took place at a time when the Guardians of the Universe had left Earth's dimension along with their mates, the Zamarons. However, one Guardian, Herupa Hando Hu, and his Zamaron mate, Nadia Safir, traveled to Earth and announced to the world that they would select 10 persons who would become the new Guardians of the Universe, and give birth to a new race of immortals. They gathered Earth's superheroes and sent them to find the chosen persons, who came from various parts of the world. ''Midnighter and Apollo'' is a six-issue American comic book limited series published by DC Comics. It is written by Steve Orlando and illustrated by Fernando Blanco, with covers by ACO. The series debuted in October 2016 and finished in March 2017. The story takes some time after the end of ''Midnighter'', with Midnighter and Apollo having gotten back together. Following a battle with demons, Apollo's soul is dragged to Hell and Midnighter attempts to bring him back. The series was announced shortly after the cancellation of ''Midnighter'', that came with the end of ''The New 52'' continuity and the '' DC Rebirth'' relaunch. Steve Orlando is an American comic book writer, known for his work for DC Comics writing characters such as Batman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman, and two series starring Midnighter, which were nominated for a GLAAD Media Award. Early life Steve Orlando attended Hamilton College in Clinton, where he studied Russian language and creative writing, obtaining a degree in the latter. Career Beginning in 2000, Orlando began attending conventions seeking work in the comics industry.
