Exploration
Exploration refers to the historical practice of discovering remote lands. It is studied by geographers and historians. Two major eras of exploration occurred in human history: one of convergence, and one of divergence. ''Explorations'' is a documentary TV series that looks into the many aspects of the human life with science, technology and research. Three series have been broadcast. Series 1 - 6 x 1hr, Series 2 - 13 x 1/2hr, Series 3 - 13 x 1/2hr. It is an example of "advertiser funded programming", where Duracell fund the cost of production of the series, produced by Broadcast Marketing Ltd, London. Executive Producers for Broadcast Marketing, Bill Orde and Peter Telford. The second series mainly focuses on daily life, ranging from food to fear to love. It provides interesting information and fact that usually do not come to people's minds, such as : * How food changes the chemistry of the brain, affecting one's mood and ability to achieve. Explorations (Bill Evans Album)
''Explorations'' is an album by jazz pianist Bill Evans that was originally released on Riverside label in 1961. The album won the ''Billboard'' Jazz Critics Best Piano LP poll for 1961. History ''Explorations'' was the second album Evans recorded with his trio of Scott LaFaro on bass and Paul Motian on drums. Evans considered it one of his favorites from this period. Producer Orrin Keepnews in the liner notes talks about the two extra pieces that were released on the CD, " Beautiful Love (take 1)" and " The Boy Next Door"; the first version of "Beautiful Love" to be included in the original LP was a second take. In fact, as Keepnews specifies, "it is not the usual case of a second attempt that immediately followed the first. Early in this date, he played this number once; we both approved, and he moved on to something else. Much later, he decided to try a second 'Beautiful Love', which he later preferred."
