Executive Council Of Bayelsa State
The Bayelsa State Executive Council (also known as, the Cabinet of Bayelsa State) is the highest governmental body that plays important roles in the Government of Bayelsa State headed by the Governor of Bayelsa State. It consists of the Deputy Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Commissioners who preside over ministerial departments, and the Governor's special aides. Functions The Executive Council exists to advise and direct the Governor. Their appointment as members of the Executive Council gives them the authority to execute power over their fields. Current cabinet The current Executive Council is serving under the Duoye Diri's administration. Bayelsa State
Bayelsa is one of the states in the South-South region of Nigeria, located in the core of the Niger Delta region. Bayelsa State was created in 1996 and was carved out from Rivers State, making it one of the newest states in the federation. Yenagoa is the capital city of Bayelsa State with most parts to have fallen within the high-risk of floods, suspects to occur annually. It shares a boundary with Rivers State to the East and Delta State to the west, with the waters of the Atlantic Ocean dominating its southern borders. It has a total area of 10, 773 km2. The state comprises eight Local Government Areas. they are Ekeremor, Kolokuma/Opokuma, Yenagoa, Nembe, Ogbia, Sagbama, Brass and Southern Ijaw. The state shares borders with Rivers State, of which it was formerly part, and Delta State. Douye Diri
Douye Diri (born 4 June 1959) is a Nigerian politician and Governor of Bayelsa State. He was the senator representing Bayelsa Central senatorial district of Bayelsa state at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly. Early life Douye Diri began his early education at Okoro Primary School, Sampou and concluded it at Rev. Proctor Memorial Primary School, Kaiama in 1977, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He later attended Government Secondary School, Odi in Bayelsa. Ewhrudjakpo Lawrence Oborawharievwo (born 5 September 1965) is a Nigerian politician who serves as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. He was the senator representing Bayelsa west senatorial district of Bayelsa State at the 9th National Assembly.
