''Every Mother's Son'' is the debut album by American band Every Mother's Son, released in 1967 on MGM Records. It blended both sunshine pop and folk rock influences. The album was preceded by the single, "Come On Down to My Boat". Background Following up on the success of their hit single "Come On Down to My Boat", which eventually reached No. 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, Every Mother's Son recorded their debut eponymous album in 1967. The single which was previously recorded by garage rock band Rare Breed, had been recorded in late 1966. It was written by the team of Wes Farrell and Jerry Goldstein who also produced the album. The remaining ten tracks were all written by Dennis Larden in conjunction with other group members. On the album, the song "Come On Down to My Boat" was titled "Come and Take a Ride in My Boat", as it was on the Rare Breed version. Every Mother's Son
Every Mother's Son was an American sunshine pop band formed in New York City in 1966. Coming from a folk rock background situated in Greenwich Village, the group scored their one-hit wonder, only Top 40 hit "Come On Down to My Boat" in 1967. Following their brief commercial success, Every Mother's Son achieved lesser fortunes with songs such as "Put Your Mind at Ease" and "Pony with the Golden Mane", and recorded two studio albums before disbanding in 1968. Jerry Goldstein (producer)
Gerald Goldstein (born February 17, 1940) is an American producer, singer-songwriter, talent manager, music executive, musician and entrepreneur. He was one of the members of The Strangeloves, the co-writer of " My Boyfriend's Back" (a hit song in 1963 for The Angels) and "Come on Down to My Boat", the producer and songwriter of War, and the former manager of Sly Stone. Goldstein produced a single with teenage singer, Nancy Baron in 1963 ("where did my Jimmy go?"/"Ta la la, I love you") for the Diamond Record label. Goldstein was part of a three-person production team which wrote and produced numerous records which are referred to as "FGG"-Feldman, Goldstein and Gottehrer. Luis Pastor "Val" Valentin (January 6, 1920 – March 24, 1999) was an American recording engineer with six decades of work in the music industry. Much of his work was done for MGM Records and Verve Records. His large discography includes Jazz albums such as ''Ella and Louis'', '' Night Train'', and ''Getz/Gilberto''. Career Valentin's earliest known engineering credits date from around 1951, when he was credited on records released by MGM. Mamas & Papas is a UK-based nursery brand and manufacturer supplying prams, pushchairs, baby products, furniture and maternity wear. It was established in Huddersfield in 1981 by David and Luisa Scacchetti, both of Italian ancestry, whose initial aim was to bring Italian design to the UK baby buggy market. They started the business with a range of coloured corduroy prams imported from Italy. They sold through one local shop of their own and through supplying other stores, until deciding to become a retail brand in 1998. For most of its existence, the business was privately owned. A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Sediments settle in different densities and structures, depending on the local wave action and weather, creating different textures, colors and gradients or layers of material. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015.
