Evan O
Evan is both an English and Welsh male given name derived from "Iefan", a Welsh form for the name John (name), John. In other languages it could be compared to "Ivan (name), Ivan", "Ian", and "Juan"; the name John itself is derived from the ancient Hebrew name Yəhôḥānān, which means "YHWH, Yahweh is gracious". Evan is also the shortened version of the Greek names "Evangelos" (meaning "good messenger") and "Evander (other), Evander" (meaning "good man"). The name is also sparingly given to women, as with actress Evan Rachel Wood. It may be encountered as a surname, of which Evans (surname), Evans is the most common version. Other languages also assign meaning to Evan as a word or name. It is related to the Gaelic word "Eóghan" meaning "youth" or "young warrior", and means "right-handed" in Scots. he, אֶבֶן, even literally means "rock". The old English translation of the name "Evan" could also be interpreted as "Heir of the Earth" or "The King". Popularity Th ...

Tristram Coffin, and ended in 1974 with the publication of ''The American: River of El Dorado'' by Margaret Sanborn. Constance Lindsay Skinner initially conceived the series. She was also the first series editor. Skinner wrote an essay that was included in early volumes of the series in which she describes it as follows: ''"This is to be a literary and not a historical series. The authors of these books will be novelists and poets. On them, now in America, as in all lands and times, rests the real responsibility of interpretation. If the average American is less informed about his country than any other national, knows and cares less about its p ...

He was educated at Westminster but left Westminster in his seventeenth year with the intention of proceeding to India, but, changing his mind, studied for twelve months under the Rev. F. E. He became vicar of Aberdare in 1866 and of Carnarvon in 1869. Here he began his lifelong controversy with Nonconformity, especially as represented by the Rev. Evan Jones (Calvinistic Methodist) and Rev. E. Herber Evans ( Congregationalist). In 1870 he fought in vain for the principle of allround denominationalism in the national education system, and in the same year addressed a famous letter to W. E.
