''Break Up'' ( it, Eutanasia di un amore) is a 1978 Italian romance drama film directed by Enrico Maria Salerno. It is based on the novel ''Eutanasia di un amore'' by Giorgio Saviane. Plot A professor in Italy, Paolo, is devastated when his longtime girlfriend, and former student, Sena, leaves him without telling him why or leaving a letter. He's fixated on seeing her again. She leaves for Paris and he sees her with another man, so he heads back to Italy. Sena eventually comes back and they reconcile. Enrico Maria Salerno
Enrico Maria Salerno (September 18, 1926 – February 28, 1994) was an Italian actor, voice actor and film director. He was also the voice of Clint Eastwood in the Italian version of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy films, and the voice of Christ in '' The Gospel According to St. Matthew'' directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Biography Enrico Maria Salerno was born in Milan on 18 September 1926, son of Antonino Salerno, an Italian lawyer originally from Erice (in province of Trapani, Sicily) and Milka Storff, a Yugoslav violinist. At only 17, he joined the Italian Social Republic as an officer of the Republican National Guard at the AA.UU. "Varese". Gerardo Amato (born 15 October 1948) is an Italian actor and voice actor. Life and career Born Gerardo Placido in Ascoli Satriano, the brother of the actor and director Michele Placido, Gerardo Amato at a young age moved to Milan where he trained as an electrical engineer. He later worked on stage, generally cast in roles of seducers, with Giorgio Strehler, Enrico Maria Salerno, and Ernesto Calindri, among others. Mario Scaccia (26 December 1919 – 26 January 2011) was an Italian actor and author. He was a prominent figure in the Italian theatre of '900.
