Eureka Learning Channel
Eureka Learning Channel, also known as Eureka, was a Singaporean cable television channel owned by and broadcast on Singapore CableVision (SCV). Portions of the schedule were also carried for free on the SCV Preview Channel. Eureka was Singapore's first home-grown children's channel with a strong emphasis on educational content, the vast majority of which came from overseas. The channel operated between 2 September 1996 and 31 March 2002. By 1999, Eureka was available in 20% of Singaporean households. History Eureka was launched by Aline Wong, and its local programmes were made in collaboration with the Curriculum Development Institute of Singapore, the Ministry of Health, and Singapore's two universities. Ahead of Eureka's launch, a programme produced by the National University of Singapore titled ''Preparing for Higher Education'' was broadcast on the SCV cable network. ''Animal Ark'' is a children's book series written by a collection of authors under the direction of Ben M. Baglio using the pseudonym Lucy Daniels starting in 1994. They have now been published in the USA under the name Ben M. Baglio as a pseudonym for the authors who write the books. Each author is named with a 'Special Thanks' on the copyright page. The age the books are aimed at is usually agreed as 8 plus. Plot The general plot of each book features Mandy Hope, the daughter of the local veterinarian, finding animals in trouble and trying to help them with the assistance of her best friend James, and other people in the village. ''Groundling Marsh'' is a Canadian children's television puppet series, produced by Portfolio Film & Television Inc., and J.A. Delmage Productions. It included songs and animated segments, and enjoyed a certain amount of success and popularity during its time. The only merchandise produced for the show were videos and they are now exceptionally rare and no longer produced. In the United States, it aired on PBS and the Disney Channel. It received funding from the International Production Fund, formerly the Maclean Hunter Television Fund. This series premiered on June 27, 1994, on YTV before premiering in the U.S. on the Disney Channel and PBS on October 1, 1995. ''Pappyland'' is an American half-hour children's television series written by Jon Nappa and broadcast on WCNY-TV in Syracuse, New York, and other PBS stations from 1993 to 1996.
