Euproctis Melanopholis
''Euproctis'' is a genus of tussock moths in the family Erebidae described by Jacob Hübner in 1819. Species are cosmopolitan, widespread throughout Palearctic, African, Oriental and Australian regions. Molecular phylogenetic studies indicate that the genus as presently understood comprises a large number of unrelated lineages (i.e., is paraphyletic), only a few of which have names (e.g., the genera '' Kidokuga'' and ''Sphrageidus''), and is therefore in serious need of revision. Description Palpi obliquely porrect (projecting forward), reaching beyond the frons. Antennae bipectinated (comb like on both sides) in both sexes, where branches are long in males each with a spine to keep it in position with regard to the contiguous branch. Mid tibia with one pair of long spurs and hind tibia with two pairs. Female has a large anal tuft. Forewings with veins 3, 4 and 5 from near angle of cell. Vein 6 from or from below upper angle. Veins 7 to 10 are stalked, where vein 10 being given o ...

Euproctis Chrysorrhoea
The brown-tail moth (''Euproctis chrysorrhoea'') is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is native to Europe, neighboring countries in Asia, and the north coast of Africa. Descriptions of outbreaks, i.e., large population increases of several years duration, have been reported as far back as the 1500s. The life cycle of the moth is atypical, in that it spends approximately nine months (August to April) as larvae (caterpillars), leaving about one month each for pupae, imagos and eggs. Larvae (caterpillars) are covered in hairs. Two red spots on the back, toward the tail, distinguish these species from other similarly hairy moth larvae. The winged adults have white wings and a hairy white body with a tuft of brown hair at the tip of the abdomen. Females lay one egg cluster, usually on the underside of a leaf of a host plant. The species is polyphagy, polyphagous, meaning that it feeds on many different species of trees, including pear, apple, maple and oak. This species was accidental ...

Euproctis Baliolalis
''Euproctis baliolalis'', the browntail gum moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. The species was first described by Charles Swinhoe in 1892. It is found in the south-east quarter of Australia. The wingspan is about 50 mm. Adults are hairy and brown, with a broad white band along the terminal area of each wing and a dark brown body. The larvae feed on the foliage of ''Eucalyptus'' species. They are initially gregarious and feed only on the surface layer of leaves of their food plant. The hairs can cause skin irritation (urticaria Hives, also known as urticaria, is a kind of skin rash with red, raised, itchy bumps. Hives may burn or sting. The patches of rash may appear on different body parts, with variable duration from minutes to days, and does not leave any long-lasti ...) if the caterpillar is handled, particularly just prior to pupation. Pupation takes place between gum leaves in a woven cocoon under the bark. External links"Species ''Euproctis baliolalis'' ( ...
