Euil Snider
Euil "Snitz" Snider (December 9, 1905 – February 9, 1978) was an American sprinter. He competed in the men's 400 metres at the 1928 Summer Olympics. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in Jefferson County, Alabama and was on the track team at Auburn University. He was the head football coach at Bessemer High School from 1933 to 1963 and was later inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) is a state museum located in Birmingham, Alabama, dedicated to communicating the state’s athletic history. The museum displays over 5,000 objects related to athletes who were born in Alabama or earned fame .... Snider died on February 9, 1978. In 1972, Bessemer Stadium where he had coached the Tigers for thirty years was renamed "Snitz Snider Stadium" in his honor. Adger, Alabama
Adger is an unincorporated crossroads community in Jefferson County, Alabama, southwest of Birmingham. Adger has a post office, two convenience storesKimbral's Grocery Adger Grocery (Out of Business), and several churches. Local businesses include construction, a goat's milk soap business, roofing, plumbing, hauling, and heavy equipment operation. The community is served by a volunteer fire department as well as a Neighborhood Watch office, which doubles as a working office for Jefferson County sheriff's deputies who patrol the area. It is governed by the Jefferson County Commission and the various departments and facets of the County Government. History The town is named for Andrew M.
