Eugéne-Hyacinthe-Marie-Joseph-Ignace de Lannoy, 5th Count of la Motterie, baron of Aix and Sombreffe (1684, Brussels - 10 September 1755) was a noble functionary during the Austrian rule of the Netherlands. Family He was the son of François-Hyacinthe de Lannoy, 4th Count of la Motterie and Baron of Sombreffe, and Anne-Françoise of Gavre. Claude de Lannoy, 1st Count of la Motterie was his great-grandfather. He was the brother in law of Dominik von Königsegg-Rothenfels, imperial ambassador. He married Lambertine du Faign, Countess of Hasselt, lady of the Starry Cross. He was succeeded by his son Chrétien de Lannoy, 6th Count of La Motterie. Claude De Lannoy, 1st Count Of La Motterie
Claude de Lannoy (1578–1643), Comte de la Motterie, was a Flemish nobleman, Governor of Maastricht and Namur and a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Early life Lannoy was born in 1578, the son of Jacques de Lannoy and Suzanne de Noyelles, into the illustrious de Lannoy family which included Charles de Lannoy and Anna van Egmont of the Seventeen Provinces. At the time, the provinces were in a state of upheaval and in 1581, the Dutch declared independence. Marriages and children Lannoy first married Marie Françoise le Vasseur and they had a son; Philippe de Lannoy, 2nd Count of la Motterie who inherited his father's titles. Dominik Von Königsegg-Rothenfels
Lothar Joseph Dominik Graf von Königsegg-Rothenfels (17 May 1673 – Vienna 8 December 1751) was an imperial Fieldmarshal. Family Lothar was the youngest son of Count Leopold Wilhelm von Königsegg-Rothenfels and Maria Polyxena, Countess Scherffenberg. He married Marie-Thérese de Lannoy, sister of Eugène-Hyacinthe de Lannoy, 5th Count of la Motterie. Career His parents sent him to the Jesuit school in Besançon, to become a priest. At the age of 16 Lothar became capitular in Salzburg and Passau. Then he was sent to Rome to finish his education. But Lothar didn't want to become a priest, left Rome and joined the Imperial army which was fighting the Turks in Hungary at that time. He served between 1691 and 1699 in the Cuirassier-Regiment "Hohenzollern" in the war against the Turks. The States of Brabant were the representation of the three estates (nobility, clergy and commons) to the court of the Duke of Brabant. The three estates were also called the States. Supported by the economic strength of the cities Antwerp, Brussels and Leuven, the States always were an important power before the rulers of the country, as was reflected by the charter of the duchy. After the duchy of Brabant and all Seventeen Provinces of the Netherlands came under the rule of the dukes of Burgundy, the States of Brabant became the host of the States-General of the Netherlands, who used to assemble in Brussels. The House of Lannoy is the name of an old and important Belgian nobility, Belgian noble family that takes its name from the French town of Lannoy, Nord. The name comes from ''l'Annoy'' (or ''l'Annoit'', from Latin ''alnetum'') which means «the alderwood» in Picard French of French Flanders, Flanders.
