Eugene Lockhart
Eugene Lockhart, Jr. (born March 7, 1961) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. He played college football at the University of Houston and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1984 NFL Draft. Early days Lockhart attended Crockett High School and became a two-year starting linebacker for the University of Houston during the 1982 and 1983 seasons. In 1983, he was named tri-captain of the Cougars football team. He led the team with 134 tackles, was named second-team All Southwest Conference by UPI and was voted the team's most valuable player. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. Bob Breunig
Robert Paul Breunig (born July 4, 1953) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Arizona State University. Early years Breunig attended Alhambra High School in Phoenix, Arizona, where he played on the 1967 freshman football A Team that was 10-0 and he was named most valuable player. He also received a varsity letter on the wrestling team as a freshman. Bob played on the varsity football team in 1968 as a sophomore and was a leading tackler in a number of games. in his junior year, in 1969, he was named Second-team All State and the Team Most Valuable Defensive Player. The Houston Gamblers were an American football team that competed in the United States Football League in 1984 and 1985. The Gamblers were coached by veteran NFL head coach Jack Pardee in both their seasons. They were noteworthy for introducing former Middletown (Ohio) High School football coach Glenn "Tiger" Ellison's Run & Shoot offense to the world of pro football. Southwest Conference
The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. For most of its history, the core members of the conference were Texas-based schools plus one in Arkansas: Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas at Austin. The 1984 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The National Football League Draft, also called the NFL Draft or (officially) the Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the league's most common source of player recruitment. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last.
