Eta Boeriu (born Margarita Caranica; February 23, 1923 in Turda – November 13, 1984 in Cluj-Napoca) was a Romanian poet, Literary criticism, literary critic and translator. Eta Cohen
Eta Cohen (1916 – 20 November 2012) was a professional English author, teacher and violinist. Cohen was born in Sunderland, to Jewish immigrants from Lithuania. She left school at age 16 and began to teach music in local private schools in Sunderland and Newcastle. At the age of 17 she was asked to teach for the local education authority, leading her to look for a published violin method on which to base her teaching. In 1933 after failing to find a satisfactory book she decided to begin writing out the lessons she taught to her students. These lessons would eventually become the foundation of her own violin method which was published as a series of books . In 1945, she married Ephraim Smith, a businessman in the cloth industry, whose parents were also Jewish immigrants from Lithuania. Cohen had two daughters, Maureen and Hazel, born in Leeds. Eta Hentz
Eta Valer Hentz (1895–1986) was a Hungarian-American fashion designer active in the US from the 1920s to the 1940s. Mainly known as Madame Eta, she was particularly known for flattering ready-to-wear clothing inspired by Ancient Greece and the Middle Ages. Born in Budapest, Hentz studied at the Hungarian Royal State Academy of Industrial Arts. In 1923 she launched her career in New York, when she joined the high-end ready-to-wear wholesaler Maurice Rentner. Their label Ren-Eta, ran until the late 1940s. In the late 1930s, Hentz and Ann Sadowsky launched their own company, for which Hentz produced her best-known work. She was particularly known for a 1943 collection which used ancient Greek classical themes, and other inspirations included Cape Cod and the Middle Ages for a Winter 1945 collection. Eta Linnemann (October 19, 1926 in Osnabrück – 9 May 2009 in Leer (Ostfriesland)) was a German Protestant theologian. In her last years, she broke completely with the theology of her teacher Rudolf Bultmann. Life Eta Linnemann studied Protestant theology in University of Marburg, Marburg, University of Tübingen, Tübingen and University of Göttingen, Göttingen from October 1948 to July 1953. She passed her first and second state examinations in August 1953 and in August 1957, respectively. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover commissioned Linnemann to write interpretations of biblical texts for religious education. From this work arose her dissertation on the parables of Jesus - ''Gleichnisse Jesu, Einführung und Auslegung'' - with which she was promoted to a doctor of theology ''summa cum laude'' in July 1961 at the Church University Berlin-Zehlendorf. Eta Moiseyevna Tyrmand ( be, Эта Майсееўна Ты́рманд, Eta Majsiejeŭna Tyrmand; russian: Эта Моисеевна Тырманд; February 23, 1917 – April 29, 2008Tut.by) was a Belarusian composer. Life and career Eta Tyrmand was born in Warsaw. She graduated from the Warsaw Conservatory in choral performance in 1938, and from the Belarusian State Conservatory in classical piano and composition in 1952. She located in Minsk in 1939, and during World War II lived in Frunze. She taught for nearly 40 years at the Belarusian State Conservatory where she trained several generations of highly accomplished musicians.
