Estonian Olympic Committee
The Estonian Olympic Committee ( et, Eesti Olümpiakomitee) (EOK) is responsible for the Estonia's participation in the Olympic Games. History The Estonian Sports Federation ( et, Eesti Spordi Liit) decided to form the Estonian Olympic Committee in the First Estonian Sport Congress ( et, Eesti I Spordikongress) on 30 November 1919, one and a half years after the proclamation of the independence of Estonia, but it was officially founded on 8 December 1923. The first chairman of the committee dr. Karl Friedrich Akel, was elected on 5 May 1924. An independent Estonian team took part in the Olympic Games over the period of 1920–1936. As Estonia was invaded and occupied in 1940, and reoccupied by the Soviet Union in 1944, the Estonian Olympic athletes competed as part of the USSR delegations at the Olympic Games from 1952 until 1988. As hosts, Argentina was given a team to compete, causing a reduction to the number of teams qualified from the Americas. Ice hockey at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics took place at the Vaudoise Aréna in Lausanne, Switzerland from 10 to 22 January 2020. A total of four events were contested: a men's and women's tournament (six teams per gender), alongside a mixed 3x3 tournament for each gender. The 3x3 competition replaced the skills challenge that was held in the first two editions. A country could enter a maximum of 26 athletes (17 for the team tournament, plus 4 in the boys' 3x3 tournament and 5 in the girl's 3x3 tournament). The Mixed-NOCs participation at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, mixed NOC team figure skating competition of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics was held at the Lausanne Skating Arena on 15 January 2020.
