Escape From New York (Beast Coast Album)
''Escape from New York'' is the debut studio album by New York hip hop supergroup Beast Coast, released through Beast Coast Media and Columbia Records on May 24, 2019. The group consists of members from Pro Era (including Joey Badass, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, CJ Fly, and Powers Pleasant), Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers. It features the singles "Left Hand" and "Snow in the Stadium". The group embarked on the Escape from New York Tour to promote the album, which started in Seattle on July 23, 2019. Beast Coast
Beast Coast is an American hip hop collective and supergroup from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2012 by the members of Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and the Underachievers. The collective has been on multiple tours together, and their debut group album ''Escape from New York'' was released on May 24, 2019. History Beast Coast was formed in 2012, but the relationships within the group members date back to the time growing up together in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Flatbush and Bedford–Stuyvesant. Pro Era formed their collective while attending Edward R. Murrow High School. The Underachievers and Zombie Juice became acquainted through a childhood friend of AK the Savior. The co-founder of Pro Era, Capital STEEZ, died by suicide in December 2012, followed by the death of ASAP Yams in 2015. Demetri Simms, better known by his stage name Meechy Darko, is an American rapper and songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He is best known as a member of the hip hop trio Flatbush Zombies, with whom he began his rapping career with his longtime friends, Erick Arc Elliott and Zombie Juice in 2010. In 2022, he released his debut solo album Gothic Luxury. Early life Meechy Darko was born in Flatbush, New York, to a Jamaican family. He met his future bandmates Zombie Juice and Erick Arc Elliott at a very young age. Meech also was friends with the members of the rap group that would later be known as the Underachievers.
