''Escapade'' (german: Eskapade) is a 1936 German romantic comedy film directed by Erich Waschneck and starring Renate Müller, Georg Alexander and Grethe Weiser.Bock & Bergfelder p. 186 It was shot at the Halensee Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Otto Erdmann and Hans Sohnle. It is based on the 1891 novel '' My Official Wife'' by Richard Henry Savage. Erich Waschneck
Erich John Waschneck (29 April 1887, in Grimma, Kingdom of Saxony – 22 September 1970, in Berlin) was a German cameraman, director, screenwriter, and film producer. Early life Erich was the son of Karl Hermann Waschneck, a blacksmith, and his wife Therese Emilie, née Schneider. Waschneck went to finishing school at the Leipzig Art Academy and studied painting. Career He came in contact with the film industry in 1907 when he began to paint posters for films. He then worked as a still photographer and later as a camera assistant to cinematographer Fritz Arno Wagner . In 1921, he did his first work as a cameraman in the adaptation of the fairy tale ''The Little Muck'' by Wilhelm Hauff. From 1924 he worked as a director. Reinhold Bernt
Reinhold Bernt (19 December 1902 – 26 October 1981) was a German film actor. Bernt was born Reinhold Bienert in Berlin and died in West Berlin. Career Bernt's acting career began in Stuttgart with a theater debut. Soon after, he traveled to Berlin. There, he founded a troupe known as the "Group of Young Actors" with his brother, Gerhard Bernt. He performed across Berlin and entered the film industry in the 1930s. he was not only an actor, but also an assistant director and screenwriter. He appeared in some Nationalist Socialist propaganda films, such as ''Im Namen des Volkes'' (In the Name of the People). After World War II, he performed at the Schillertheater and in Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft (DEFA). It became harder to obtain large roles, so he began to act increasingly as supporting characters. eventually, he moved on to voicing radio plays, performing a total of 320 roles. Harald Paulsen (26 August 1895 – 4 August 1954) was a German stage and film actor and director. He appeared in 125 films between 1920 and 1954. Career Paulsen first appeared on stage at age sixteen. He then studied under from Leopold Jessner, who was then senior director at Hamburg's Thalia Theater. He made his debut at the Hamburg Stadttheater in 1913. From 1915 until 1917, he served in the German Army during World War I. in 1917–18 he played at the Fronttheater in Mitau. In 1919 he was brought to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin by Max Reinhardt. From his extensive theatrical work, his role as "Mackie Messer" ("Mack the Knife") in the world premiere of Bertolt Brecht's ''The Threepenny Opera'' is particularly noteworthy. Paul Otto Schlesinger (8 February 1878 – 25 or 30 November 1943) was a German film actor and director. Born in Berlin, he began a qualification as a retail merchant and made his actor's debut at the age of 17. Otto worked at Theaters in Halle, Wiesbaden and Hanover before he returned to Berlin about 1906. He first appeared in the silent film ''Ringkampf Konkurrenz'' in 1910 and in ''Arsène Lupin contra Sherlock Holmes'' (1910-11, five episode film serial) next to Viggo Larsen. In 1912 Otto directed his first own film ''Selbstgerichtet''. In the beginning of the 1930s he also appeared in successful Sound movies like '' Der Hauptmann von Köpenick''.
