''Epidemic of Violence'' is the second album by American thrash metal band Demolition Hammer. It was released in early 1992 to critical acclaim and is considered a cult classic in the thrash metal and death metal genres. ''Epidemic of Violence'' uses a Michael Whelan painting for its cover artwork: ''Lovecraft's Nightmare B''. The first half of the painting, ''Lovecraft's Nightmare A'', was used for Obituary's ''Cause of Death''. Demolition Hammer
Demolition Hammer is an American thrash metal band from the Bronx, New York, active from 1986 to 1995 and again since 2016. To date, the band has released three full-length studio albums: ''Tortured Existence'' (1991), ''Epidemic of Violence'' (1992) and ''Time Bomb'' (1994). History Formation and first two albums (1986–1992) Demolition Hammer arrived on the East Coast thrash metal scene circa 1986. The original lineup consisted of Steve Reynolds as the vocalist and on bass, James Reilly on guitar, and John Salerno on drums. Their first demo tape, ''Skull Fracturing Nightmare'', was released in 1988. It gained notice from fans of the genre and independent record labels. Obituary is an American death metal band formed in Tampa, Florida in 1984. They were a fundamental act in the development of death metal music, and are one of the most successful death metal bands of all time. To date, Obituary has released ten studio albums, and with the exception of their 1997–2003 split, they continue to perform live around the world. Initially called Executioner, the band changed its name to Xecutioner in 1986 to avoid confusion with the thrash metal band Executioner from Boston, and then changed its name once again to Obituary in 1988. Obituary's current lineup consists of vocalist John Tardy, drummer Donald Tardy, rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres, bassist Terry Butler, and lead guitarist Ken Andrews. Demolition (also known as razing, cartage, and wrecking) is the science and engineering in safely and efficiently tearing down of buildings and other artificial structures. Demolition contrasts with deconstruction, which involves taking a building apart while carefully preserving valuable elements for reuse purposes. For small buildings, such as houses, that are only two or three stories high, demolition is a rather simple process. The building is pulled down either manually or mechanically using large hydraulic equipment: elevated work platforms, cranes, excavators or bulldozers. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. Like these genres, grunge typically uses electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals. Grunge also incorporates influences from indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth. Lyrics are typically angst-filled and introspective, often addressing themes such as social alienation, self-doubt, abuse, neglect, betrayal, social and emotional isolation, addiction, psychological trauma and a desire for freedom. ''Cause of Death'' is the second album by American death metal band Obituary, released on September 19, 1990. ''Cause of Death'' remains a staple in death metal. The artwork was done by artist Michael Whelan. It is their first release with longtime member Frank Watkins on bass, and also their first and only album with guitarist James Murphy, previously of the group Death. Murphy did not contribute to songwriting as the riffs he showed to the band would end up appearing on Disincarnate's 1993 album ''Dreams of the Carrion Kind''. The cover art was to used in an H. P. Lovecraft collection, ''Lovecraft's Nightmare A''. Michael Whelan (born 29 June 1950) is an Americans, American artist of imaginative Realism (arts), realism. For more than 30 years, he worked as an illustrator, specializing in science fiction and fantasy cover art. Since the mid-1990s, he has pursued a fine art career, selling non-commissioned paintings through contemporary art gallery, galleries in the United States and through his website. Warren is a town in Bristol County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 11,147 at the 2020 census. History Warren was the site of the Pokanoket Indian settlement of Sowams located on a peninsula within the Pokanoket region. The region consisted of over 60 settlements under the authority of Chief Massasoit (sometimes called Osamequin) who controlled the land from Plymouth to the eastern shores of Narragansett Bay. English colonists Edward Winslow and Stephen Hopkins from Plymouth Colony first visited there in July, 1621. Winslow and John Hampden saved Massasoit's life two years later and gained an important ally and lifelong friend. Thrash Metal

''Time Bomb'' is the third album by the American metal band Demolition Hammer, Released on August 23, 1994. It is the only Demolition Hammer album to feature drummer Alex Marquez, as well as the only one not to feature guitarist James Reilly and drummer Vinny Daze, the two of whom had left the band in order to form the short-lived group Deviate NY. ''Time Bomb'' was not originally intended to be released under the Demolition Hammer name, given its musical difference from the band's earlier work. It was their last studio album before their 21-year breakup from 1995 to 2016. The entirety of the album's brief, untitled opening track was taken from the 1981 film Prince Of The City.
