Epic (1984 Film)
''Epic'' (also known as ''Epic: Days of the Dinosaur'') is a 1984 Australian animated feature by Yoram Gross, who later called it "a rather Australian film – I can't say very successful, a little bit too much experimental film, too much abstract story." Storyline During a massive flood, two children are rescued by a family of dingoes, which subsequently raises them as their own. When the children come of age, they must go out into the world and collect the "secrets of life", before becoming the new king and queen of the dingoes. Yoram Gross
Yoram Jerzy Gross (18 October 192621 September 2015) was a Polish-born, Australian producer of children's and family entertainment. He was known for his adaptation of children's characters from books and films, and best known for the production of the films ''Dot and the Kangaroo'' and '' Blinky Bill: The Mischievous Koala''. Early life Gross was born in Kraków, Poland and was the brother of Jewish film director Natan Gross. Gross endured World War II under the Nazi regime. His family was on Oskar Schindler's list, but chose to make their own risky escape, moving hiding places 72 times. Gross studied music and musicology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (also known as Krakow University). He first entered the film industry in 1947 at the age of 20 when he became one of the first students of Jerzy Toeplitz (founder of the Polish Film Institute, the Swiss Film Institute and the Australian Film and Television School). John Marcellus Huston ( ; August 5, 1906 – August 28, 1987) was an American film director, screenwriter, actor and visual artist. Benita Collings (born 1940) is an Australian theatre, television and film character actress and children's television presenter best known for her role on ABC TV's '' Play School''. Collings has also featured in documentaries and commercials. Keith Scott (born 28 October 1953) is an Australian voice actor, comedian, impressionist and animation historian. Career At a young age, Scott was always enchanted by the mimics and impressionists on ''The Ed Sullivan Show''. He began developing his ability to impersonate voices in high school, doing cartoon characters (the first of which being Mr. Jinks) and teacher's voices. In October 1972, just after leaving school, Scott was hired by William Hanna, the head of Hanna-Barbera, which had established a large animation studio in Sydney, Australia. He got the gig when he brought in some letters that he had received from Daws Butler (voice of Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, etc.) in December 1970.
