Ensamma Mamman
''Ensamma mamman'' ("single mom") is a Swedish comic strip created by Cecilia Torudd. ''Ensamma mamman'' first made a brief appearance in ''Dagens Nyheter'' in 1985. It was well received by the readers and returned in 1987 as a fixed feature. Torudd continued drawing it until 1991, when it was syndicated by Bull, and it has since been rerun in many newspapers. ''Ensamma mamman'' deals with a single mother and her two teenage children, her 14-year-old son Beppe and her daughter Mia, 17 years old. ''Ensamma mamman'' received the Urhunden Prize Urhunden Prizes have been given out each year by the Swedish Comics Association ('' Svenska Seriefrämjandet'') since 1987. Cecilia Torudd (born 1942) is a Swedish illustrator and author born in Lund. Since the 1970s, she has been a contributing illustrator for the children's magazine ''Kamratposten''. Background She is the daughter of Albert Levan, and Karin Malmberg. She studied Art Education at Konstfack, University College of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, and is the author of '' Ensamma mamman''. She is also known for her long standing contributions to ''Kamratposten''. ''Familjeliv'' Torudd's cartoon series ''Familjeliv'' (''Family Life'') was published in ''Kamratposten'' as a recurring feature during the 1980s. The series tells the story of the Larsson family, which consists of father Kenneth, mother Lisbet, the three children Lotta, Johan and Lillen and their dog Kalle. Urhunden Prizes
Urhunden Prizes have been given out each year by the Swedish Comics Association (''Svenska Seriefrämjandet'') since 1987. There are three categories: Best Swedish (Domestic) Album of the Year (1987–2005), Best Foreign Album of the Year (1987–2005), and the "Unghunden" for best children and youth comics (1994–2005). The award is named after the Swedish cartoon strip "Urhunden" which was created by Oskar Emil "O.A." Andersson (1877–1906), who was one of the pioneers in Swedish comics. It featured a prehistoric man in modern surroundings. The title character was a mixture of a dog and a dinosaur, with erratic and often drastic behavior.
