Enric Pladevall-Vila
Enric Pladevall (born 1951 in Vic) is a Catalan sculptor. Biography Pladevall was born in 1951 in Vic, Barcelona and in 1968 he entered Barcelona's Fine Arts school. His prolific career as a sculptor is acknowledged with important scholarships and awards. His artistic accomplishments are well established in both national and international fields. His work has been exhibited at Barcelona's Fundació Joan Miró, the Maeght gallery as well as in Italy, France, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, the United States and Japan. He has got public sculptures in Korea, Barcelona, Vic, Manresa, Reus, El Prat de Llobregat and Girona. Some of his most valued sculptures are ''Androgyne Planet'' at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park, and ''L'arbre de la Vida'' ("The tree of life"), at Barcelona's Cosmocaixa. Palafrugell
Palafrugell () is a municipality in the Mediterranean ''Costa Brava'', located near Palamós in the ''comarca'' of Baix Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. With 22,365 inhabitants it is the largest city of its comarca. Several coastal and interior towns (Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu and Llofriu) belong to this city. The area's summer climate and beaches have been exploited for tourism. Steel
Steel is an alloy made up of iron with added carbon to improve its strength and fracture resistance compared to other forms of iron. Many other elements may be present or added. Joan Vinyoli
Joan Vinyoli i Pladevall (3 July 1914 — 30 November 1984) was a Catalan people, Catalan poet, born in Barcelona, Spain. Vinyoli first became familiar with poetry by reading the works of Rainer Maria Rilke and at the beginning of his career was heavily influenced by the work of other German language, German poets such as Goethe and Hölderlin. His talent was first noticed by Carles Riba, and then Rosselló-Pòrcel, Teixidor among others. He published his first collection, ''Primer desenllaç'' (First Outcome) in 1937. In the 1970s, after a decade of relative silence, his work changed to a more realistic style. Fundación Juan March
The Fundación Juan March is a foundation established in 1955 by Juan March, who was Spain's richest man. The foundation produces exhibitions as well as concert and lecture series. Its headquarters in Madrid houses a library devoted to contemporary Spanish music and theater. It owns and operates the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español, in Cuenca, and the Museu Fundación Juan March, in Palma. Museo De Arte Abstracto Español
The ''Museo de Arte Abstracto Español'' (Museum of Spanish Abstract Art) is a museum in Cuenca, Spain established in 1966. It has a collection of some 129 paintings, mainly by 1950s and 1960s Spanish artists. History In 1961 artist Fernando Zóbel de Ayala y Montojo, Fernando Zobel began looking for a suitable location for a museum of abstract art, and in June 1963 his friend, the artist Gustavo Torner, suggested the Hanging Houses of Cuenca as an appropriate site. The building is owned by the City of Cuenca, Spain, Cuenca, which rented it for a symbolic amount. Restoration and renovation of the building was necessary, and was carried out by local architects Fernando Barja and Francisco Leon Meler.
