Stig Engström (suspected Murderer)
Stig Folke Wilhelm Engström (26 February 1934 – 26 June 2000) was a Swedish graphic designer. Long treated by police as an eyewitness to the assassination of Prime Minister Olof Palme, Engström was separately proposed as Palme's assassin by the Swedish writers Lars Larsson and Thomas Pettersson. Krister Petersson, prosecutor in charge of the investigation, announced the closing of the case at a press conference on 10 June 2020 and stated twenty years after Engström's death, he was the prime suspect in the murder, but that the evidence against him would have been too weak for a trial. In line with Swedish media reporting practices of not disclosing the names of suspects, Engström was dubbed the ''Skandia Man'' ( sv, Skandiamannen), since he had arrived at the crime scene from the nearby head office of the Skandia Insurance Company, where he worked. Adolf Engström
Carl Adolf Engström (17 February 1855 – 19 June 1924) was a Finnish engineer, businessman and vuorineuvos. Engström got familiar already at early age with large machinery and engineering workshop environment due to his stepfather's work as engineer in the Finnish State Railways. After completing his mechanical engineering studies in Helsinki Polytechnic School in 1877, Engström went to gain experience abroad in Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom and United States. Upon his return in 1884, Engström got vacance in the State Railways. He took successfully part in steam locomotive designing, which was followed by railway projects in Savonia and Karelia. He worked as director for stone company Ab Granit in 1889–1895, after which he returned to State Railways for another five years. Engström was appointed manager of Hietalahti Shipyard and Engineering Works in 1900. Lars Christian Engström (born 9 February 1960) is a Swedish computer programmer, activist and politician. He is deputy chairman of the Swedish Pirate Party. Engström was elected a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 2009 election. Education and career Christian Engström was born in Högalid, Stockholm. Carl Gunnar David Engström (1 September 1912 – 9 January 1987) was a Swedish physician and innovator. He is the inventor of the first intermittent positive pressure mechanical ventilator that could deliver breaths of controllable volume and frequency and also deliver inhalation anesthetics. Mats Engström (born 7 October 1955) is a Swedish businessman and former chairman of Swedish football club IFK Göteborg. He was elected chairman on 5 March 2018 by the general meeting. Lilly Engström
Lilly Engström (1843–1921) was a Swedish women's rights activist and civil servant. In 1890, she became the first female member of a Board of education in Sweden, after a reform the year prior, in which women were allowed to serve on governmental boards.
