Antonio Momplet
Antonio Momplet (1899 – 10 August 1974) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He worked in Spain, France, Argentina and Mexico. Life and career Antonio Momplet was born in Cádiz, Andalusia. He worked as a journalist and translator of foreign films in Barcelona until 1927, when he moved to Paris and began to work for Gaumont. In the mid 1930s he moved back to Spain where he directed four feature films and founded the film journal ''Cine Art'', which quickly became influential. To avoid the Spanish Civil War, he moved to Argentina in 1937, and made eight feature films the following years. In 1943 he moved to Mexico to join the film industry there, and made a number of Mexican films both as director and writer for others, before he moved back to Buenos Aires in 1946. In 1952 he returned to Spain. During his final Spanish period he made films such as the Spaghetti Western parody ''Due contro tutti'', before he retired in 1964. Raúl del Valle (1908 in Chile – 21 January 1973, in La Rioja, Argentina) was a Chilean film and theatre actor who performed for most of his career in Argentina. Career Del Valle was a prominent character actor who performed in more than 40 Argentine films and worked with well-known actors such as Hugo del Carril, Dora Baret, Libertad Leblanc, and Armando Bo among others. Death Del Valle died of myocardial infarction whilst shooting the film ''La muerte de Sebastián Arache y su pobre entierro'' (''The Death of Sebastián Arache and his poor burial).'' He death was shot on camera. He was 64 years old on the day of his death. ''Estudios San Miguel'' (San Miguel Studios) was an Argentina, Argentine film studio that was active in the 1940s and early 1950s. It flourished during the golden age of Cinema of Argentina, and at its peak was one of the major studios in Buenos Aires. Genres ranged from musical comedy to costume drama and gaucho thriller. Films included ''La guerra gaucha'' (''The Gaucho War'' 1942), co-produced with ''Artistas Argentinos Asociados'', and the comedy ''Juvenilia (film), Juvenilia'' (1943), both of which won several major awards.
