Emblem Of Assam
At present the state of Assam in India has not adopted a distinctive emblem for government use and instead uses the national emblem of India with the words "Oxom Sorkar" above and "Government of Assam" below. In February 2022, the Government of Assam decided to form a committee to consider the design for a distinctive emblem for the state. Government Of Assam
The Government of Assam is the subnational government of Assam, a state of India. It consists of the Governor appointed by the President of India as the head of the state, currently Jagdish Mukhi. The head of government is the Chief Minister, currently Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is the leader of the group that commands a majority in the unicameral Assam Legislative Assembly. Kamatapur Autonomous Council
The Kamatapur Autonomous Council is an autonomous council in the Kamtapur region of the Indian state of Assam, for development and protection of ethnic Koch Rajbongshi people. It was formed in 2020. It includes the whole of the Undivided Goalpara district, excluding Bodoland Territorial Council and Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council areas. History The Kamatapur Autonomous Council Bill 2020 was tabled in Assam Legislative Assembly on 24 March 2020 by the BJP led NDA government and it was passed in September 2020. Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council
The Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC), is an autonomous district council for the Thengal Kachari people in the state of Assam, India. History The council was created in 2005 by Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council Act, which was passed by the Assam Legislative Assembly. Structure The council has 26 members of whom 22 are directly elected and 4 are appointed by the Governor of Assam on behalf of the central Government of India. The council elects a Chief Executive Councillor who nominates an executive committee. At the most recent election, held in January 2022; the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 14 seats, the Indian National Congress won 4, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won 3 and one seat was won by an Independent. The BJP went on to form a coalition executive with the AGP with Kumud Ch Kachari as Chief Executive Councillor. The Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (SKAC), is an autonomous district council for the Sonowal Kachari people in the state of Assam in India. The SKAC was established in 2005 by the state legislation Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council Act, 2005. Structure The General Council consist of 30 (thirty) members out of which 26 (twenty six) are elected members and 4 (four) members are to be nominated by the Government of Assam to give representation of those group/communities of the council area which are not otherwise represented in it. Out of 26 (twenty six) seats, 20 (twenty) shall be reserved for scheduled Tribes and 5 (five) seats shall be reserved for woman, and 1 (one) for general community. Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council
The Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) was constituted by the Government of Assam in 1995. It was constituted for development in the areas of economic, educational, socio-cultural and ethnic identity of Rabha people residing in the council area. RHAC has different tribes such as Rabha, Bodo, , Assamese, Garo, Hajong, etc. The majority of the population in RHAC is Rabha. Currently the RHAC head office is located at Dudhnoi Assam. Matak Autonomous Council
Matak Autonomous Council is an Autonomous administrative divisions of India in the Indian state of Assam, for development and protection of ethnic Matak people. It was formed in 2020. About The Matak people are indigenous people living primarily in the Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Sivasagar districts of Assam. According to the unofficial estimates, there are about seven hundred thousand Matak people in Assam.
